Hazel Park Raceway
Since it opened in 1953, Hazel Park Raceway has been the place to go on summer nights to bet on the horses. Those placing bets can wager not only on the night's live races but on others televised from around the country. The towering grandstand and the large clubhouse, offers seats with good views of the track. The barn area is behind the grandstand and near the parking lot, so horses are led to and from the races in plain view of the spectators. This is a great place to go to, for some local flavor and entertainment.
New grandstands are very nice and up dated.Since there is still not a ok for slot machines why not make use of the new building that it's there for.And open up it as the new club house. And tear down the old club house that's still standing. That can always be used for the slot's should it come later.Which as a harness owner I would hope would be soon. Also I do agree there are many window tellers who do not have a very good attiude the people are spending there hard earned money when they go to the track there are a lot of other options where to go. this I would hope should be a pleasent choice it does need to be fixed. Thanks Dan
Service is God awful, betting (SAM) machines don't work 1/2 the time & haven't been corrected for years. Window people are RUDE, close windows so they can attend to their own bussiness, service desk same way. People at the the concession stands same way (not all, but most) Chairs & tables are dirty in the betting areas. They have Mi. Keno, why? no one is at the windows, there excuss, we need them some where else.....for years this place has needed an overhaul, but I guess when your the only game in the area..????There is still the casinos..!!!!!!!!!
