To bibliophiles, this book shop is a must stop. On four floors of the old Advance Glove warehouse are close to a million titles, ranging from the popular to the obscure, covering all kinds of subjects. It's a treasure trove for book lovers, who can spend many happy hours wandering the aisles. Owner King moved here in 1983 after outgrowing his first location. He has published about 90 rare book catalogs and handled the papers of celebrities, sports stars and numerous auto magnates. There are two smaller King locations, one at Wayne State University and one in Ferndale.
A booklover's dream. John King Books is in a funky converted factory on the edge of downtown Detroit, and it hold hundreds of thousands of used & rare books, most much cheaper than you'd find online! Helpful staff, ample parking, family friendly. Well worth stopping in when you're in the area...maybe even well worth the trip to Detroit just for this store!

Located near all major expressways this sprawling set of warehouses supposedly houses nearly a Million Books ... I'll bet it really does.
