Description

When this once-obscure hole-in-the-wall expanded from a bar and poolroom to a big restaurant, it marked the revival of the western portion of Mexicantown. Now Xochimilco is so popular that crowds regularly fill its three dining rooms on the first floor and crowd into second-floor cubicles. And plenty of competitors have opened their doors, but Xochimilco is still the top spot for its dependability. The formula is simple: generous portions of Mexican staples, including tasty guacamole and gargantuan burritos. The price has remained affordable, and people keep coming nightly until 2am for drinks and munchies.

We always enjoy Xochimilco's good food, quick, friendly service. It's always very busy, but worth the wait. The resturand is located conveniently near the expressway. We make a point of taking our family to Mexican Town Xochimilco's very often!

awesome food

this is the best place in detroit to get a great meal. you can walk out full on $7 bucks. Great place to go before a game, it's open until 4am this place is crazy as 2am after the bars close and you need to fill that belly.

I would go there again!

My High School Nutrition class and I visited this restaurant and I have to say I really enjoyed my self. The prices were very reasonable the food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. One thing I didn't like is that there were no free refills on soft drinks other than that everything was fine.

I liked this place because the restaraunt was very friendly and the food was delicious. I liked the upstairs bar, that was my favorite. When your there it feels very mexico-like!

Awesome authentic Mexican food, great tasting Margarita and the staff welcomes you into their 'home' and aims to please. Will definitely make this a stop whenever we are in Detroit.

#3? ou've got to be kidding!

I've known this place for years and used to love the food until i had a real Mexican meal. Detroit isn't known for fine dining and Xochimilco won't bring Dom DeLuise from his kitchen anytime soon. The margaritas are watered down (like kool aid) and the meals are just bland. This is fast food that is slightly better than White Castle. I recommend this place for high school kids to take their dates. For people who want good mexican food in detroit, I'm sure there are better places.

Although it has been some time since I have been here. All the times that I have visited Xochimilco's...it has been the best Mexican food ever!!
