Lobster Pot

Description

With two Provincetown waterfront dining rooms and the Top of the Pot cocktail room, The Lobster Pot offers wonderful views along with prize-winning food. Open nearly year round, this restaurant offers the award-winning Tim's Clam Chowder and won a "Best Of" award from Cape Cod Life. The fresh seafood here is delicious, and chances are you'll see it being brought into the harbor on fishing boats. Ordering their chowder and lobster, and sitting by the water (especially at sunset) will provide a quintessentially great P-town evening.

come back for more!
By ,
I first learned of this restaurant about 12 yrs ago on a bus weekend trip to the cape. The bus driver and travel guide had nothing but great things about the food here. Well I had to try it, and The scenery of the bay and the food was and still is tops on the cape. They are very much known for their clam chowder and their whole belly clams. I have had chowder and clams from other restaurants on the cape, but this place is Number#1.. If you have time to get to P-Town, you must not leave without trying this place!!

Tourist Trap
By ,
Appetizers were fair. Entrees, (fish & chip dinner w/salad (only had lettuce in it and nothing else!) was a very small portion of fish and fries which looked like they had been thrown on the plate. Fried clam roll had a totally burned bun with full-bellied clams, which I ordered and specified and clam strips which I did not order. Clams were small and not tasty at all, probably canned. We definitely would not return for dinner!

A pleasant surprise!
By ,
The Lobster Pot was recommended by one of the locals at the other end of town. The mile-long hike was no disappointment,as was the fact that we didn't have to wait to be seated, eventhough it was 1:15 p.m. The service was excellent,as was the food.My wife and I had the Lobster Roll, which was practically overfilled with lobster meat.A seemingly endless variety of wines and beers to choose from was available. A place not to be missed while in P'town! We'll certainly return to The Lobster Pot on our next visit to P'Town.

Hands down best in P'Town!!!
By ,
The Lobster Pot is to P'Town what the cheese steak is to Philly, or the Cheesecake to New York! The neon sign draws you in like a bug light, then you are captured by the aroma of fresh seafood, and before you know it, you are trapped in the very long line to get in. Tim and his staff run an exceptionally tight ship- always pleasant, always willing to offer menu advice, and always quick with a drink! it offers a great bar and a fantastic view of the harbor! one suggestion- when at a fantastic seafood restaurant like this, DO NOT ORDER A HAMBURGER! highly highly suggest the "Portugese Fish"- you will not regret it, though others at your table who didn't might...

Best Bloody Mary ever!!!!!
By ,
Just got back for P-town with a bunch of my Red Hat Ladies, we all had lunch at TLP. Great service and food was excellent. Lobster salad was yummy. And the chocolate mousse tort was delish. But...specatcular Bloody Mary. I had 2 LOL. Not a mix...and they rimmed the glass with crushed fresh pepper and sea salt. To die for. The staff was wonderful and I asked for a side of fried clams and they were very good. Would not eat anywhere else in P-town.

EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET
By ,
My 15 year going to ptown and the lobster pot. LAST TIME THERE. VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get today. Who the heck wants letuce for a salad. Salad dressing is GREAT, but only on lettuce? Give me a break. Much better places for the $$$

The food was incredible!!!!! And the prices considering it's in Ptown were reasonable, but the highlight of the afternoon was Charlie our waiter. He made our visit so much more then just lunch. See you next year Charlie!!!

My First Stop
By ,
The Lobster Pot is always my first stop when I hit town. It can get crowded, but no matter how busy the staff is always very friendly and will take all the time you want if you need help with the menu. Probably the best waitstaff I have found in Provincetown. I am a big fan of clam chowder and the Lobster Pot has about the best I have had. Everyone should try this restaurant.
