Boston MFA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/28/08
I live in NH and have been taking my kids to the MFA since my 19 year-old was about 5. What a great place to visit. The Family Membership is inexpensive when you consider all the benefits. They have great exhibits yearly and some fabulous impressionist paintings. We especially love the Sargents...

enjoy on free Wed. and ride the T
By nancyo, 04/30/08
Dislike......COST = Very high unless you plan well. Go on the afernoon the museum is free, otherwise it is expensive. Parking is outrageously costly! Ride the public transportation and save a bundle. PLUS SIDE - I was floored when I found myself in front of actual paintings I have seen in books. My son and his wife plan to go again on the next trip here. If you have been to lots of museums, well, I have to say it is like many others I have been to.

I've had better experiences
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/08
I was not impressed with the MFA, Boston. The people at the reception area were snobbish and unhelpful. Three times we were stopped and asked to show our tickets. There were paint buckets and ladders everywhere. Granted, they may have been in the middle of renovating or changing exhibitions but it was definitely not worth the money when so much of the collection was unavailable. Call before you visit to see what's being exhibited.

Excellent!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/07
An astonishing display of art and historical artifacts. I took some great pictures, as no-flash photography is allowed in most areas of the museum. Well worth the admission price.

"Great place to visit while in Boston."
By Lady_TTiger, 07/03/07
"This is a great place to visit while in Boston, the paintings, art sculptures & different array of art displays are excellent to see,& its great the museum allows some photography in specific areas without using a flash." But there were some minor setbacks when a friend and I visited... The tour was a little pricey for only 1 hour & the tour guide went into too much detail in the beginning yet not enough towards the end of the tour. I suggest..."Unless you are really good & quick at taking in-motion pictures with your camera, you are better off just paying the admission price and going at your own pace of discovering & seeing some great artwork in this museum."

Spend the day at the MFA...
By B0CA GRANDE, 02/13/07
I absolutely adore this museum. I could get lost in the galleries, studying the paintings by renaissance artists, old masters, impressionists and modern artists. Make a point of spending time in the galleries where the antiquities of Asia and ancinet Egypt are displayed. The MFA is an absolute jewel in the crown of the fair city of Boston.

Nice but expensive
By ABC, 08/08/06
I think the general admission rate is a bit too high, although, one can say that this may be to keep out the riff-raff. Great presentations, moods in each gallary fit the time period of art presented - too much to see in one day if you are a real art buff. It wouldbe nice if they gave MA residents and MA teachers some sort of discount so I could afford to go more often.

Boston Museum of Fine Arts
By Puddys, 04/28/06
Love Art. Visit the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. This is my favorite place to go when I need to relax and enjoy a talent I do not have. Opened in 1876, this art museum is one of the best in the United States and has sponsored impressive shows on Monet and John Singer Sargent. The "MFA" has outstanding collections of Impressionist art, early American art and artifacts, and Asian and Egyptian art. Admission is 15.00 for adults, 13.00 for seniors and college students, and 6.50 for children 7-17. Admission is free for all on Wednesdays from 4p. Special exhibits are additional charges.
