Taste of Culture
This Harvard Square shop has an amazing selection of gifts from all over the world. The Santa Claus wind chime hanging by the door is handmade in Mexico, and is one of the best sellers at this quaint shop. You will also find Ecuadorian hand drums, jewelry and handmade clothes from Ghana and Nepal towards the back of the shop. The multilingual and perpetually friendly staff will help you make the perfect selection.
Gifts and value...this is a funky place, not many left in the Harvard Square area, and a place to get gifts for friends and family. Right now, the inventory is 1/2 price for many goods. The owner travels throughout South America to find unique gifts; she buys from cooperatives and indigenous crafts makers in Peru, Chile, Ecuador, etc. And she is one great person as well, very generous and appealing. In a time when so many stores are corporate entities, this is a place that is quaint and can't be duplicated. Check it out....definitely worth a stop.
