Go for custom design as well as everyday jewelry

Katarina designed my engagement ring. She was receptive to my ideas, took a lot of time over months going over a number of versions, and I was absolutely sure I could trust her to make sure the final product was something I would love. You can immediately tell by her other rings that her designs are thoughtful, balanced, interesting, and beautiful. I personally wanted something unique but still classically beautiful and I got exactly that. I was so tired of going into all the usual suspects for engagement rings and seeing the same thing over and over. Even if you don't want to have her design something especially for you, there is a large selection of pre-made rings in the store that are beautiful, varied in design, and absolutely not boring.
As with all purchases where price can vary, I would recommend doing some legwork first so you know what to expect price-wise. I found their prices reasonable (mid-range for custom design).
I would also recommend the Baak gallery for a range of other jewelry purchases: $20 earrings for a friend to a $200 necklace for you sister... The style is varied and I usually find something I like. If you don't really know what to get someone, the staff
is good at offering suggestions. I sent a coworker there to buy his girlfriend a ring for her birthday, which she ended up loving!
Finally, they have rotating artists selling paintings, photographs, etc. The artwork is a bit high-end for me, but certainly worth checking out if you have a budget for original art. If nothing else, it does bring the whole atmosphere up a notch, and browsing is always a pleasant experience.
