Framers' Workshop, Brookline

First time I went to this place 20+ years ago. Recently, I wanted to frame a painting. I went to a few places, their price was $250+ with a coupon. And it would take 2 weeks. I just needed a frame, no glass or mat. I came to Framers Workshop and in half hour I walked out with my painting framed. For $62. Great deal and something to remember.

Once I discovered this place I framed every picture, photo and poster in my house! I enjoy the do-it-yourself aspect, I can frame something and hang it up the same DAY! Great for gifts or framing artwork. Can't say enough good things! (Just watch out for the music selection of the day... can be either amusing or annoying) :)

Theres something about framing your own work that feels as though you are really completeing the creative process.I really do love working in this space.Alll the staff who work here are knowledgable, helpful and patient and there always seems to be an adequate amount of staff on hand to assist everyone.Even if you don't consider yourself to be "handy" using a hammer, nailset and bench grip,you will not feel in the woods, you will be assisted until completion of your framed piece. I know I've saved money on the actual framing, but one needs to consider ones time.Framing is labor intensive, and it takes me a good 4 hours to frame a 22"X30" work on paper under glass. But I've come to love the process and also love an excuse to hang out in Brookline for a morning or an evening.So its works for me.

staff is amazingly helpful, whether it is your first or 100th time. prices are managable and well worth it. all artists have in mind exactly how they want their work displayed, matted, mounted, and framers workshop allows for that. no other place like it in boston
