Several years ago the area bordering Chinatown was made up of textile stores and wholesale fabric manufacturers. This store retains the old flavor of the area, offering bolts of fantastic fabrics and silks in hundreds of colors and styles. Contemporary, classic, obscure and bizarre designs decorate the rolls that cram almost every inch of this store. And if the fabric is not enough for you, a selection of jewelry (mostly gold and jade) awaits.

Van's ASIAN Fabrics
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/07
The review prior to mine suggests "Contemporary, classic, obscure and bizarre designs" and on that, I went down there. There is only Asian fabrics there, maybe some African fabrics, but that's it. It has wonderful silks, satins, velvets, brocades, etc. But the name of the place doesn't indicate that it doesn't have any fabrics or patterns remotely european, contemporary or classic. Lots of beautiful Asian fabrics, with shimmery things and silks, if that's what you're looking for. But if you're looking for classic European/American cottons and patterns, this is NOT the place.

Great Place, wonderful colors and wonderful Textures
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/04
I was in this store several years ago and fell in love with it instantly and have always wanted to go back. I have never been able to find a fabric store with the huge inventory that this store has. The variety is mind boggling, the combinations of the colors in the brocades is unsurpassed.
