Description

They are serious about the name-there are real vinyl records, and most of the music (in any format) is inexpensive. The LPs include lots of jazz, blues and folk, as well as rock and pop. If you have the patience to flip through boxes of CDs without jewelcases, anything you pick up is reasonably priced. Even box sets are affordable at these prices. In addition to the records, tapes and CDs, there is a small selection of videotapes.

A great record store

The staff at cheapo records is very friendly and their vinyl selection is very good for a standard record store. The prices are very fair. The blues and jazz sections are better than most used record stores and the 45 selection is amazing.

CHEAPO 4-EVER

My experience with Cheapo records was always enjoyable... I would spend hours preparing a list of oldies (doo wop etc) and hand deliver it to Alan or Bobby and walk around the shop looking thru a plethora of vinyl records from early 50's .... and soon my records would be ready for me at the front counter... the best part was if I didn't know the title or artist I would do my best to sing a few words and within a word or two Alan had the record in his hand!!! I love this store.. and all the fun I had chatting with the guys.. Little Walter would surprise visit on occasion and made it that much better!!! "Do it again Walter, Do it Again"... Your best friend ever... the Real Arlene....

Cheapo Records Rocks!!!

Firstly, the selection is incredible and has been for years. One will marvel at the gigantic wall of 45's and especially at the overall prices. This is a record/cd enthusiast's paradise. I have been visting Cheapo Records since I was a teenager and I like to think that Al and Bobby watched me become a man. I'm 42 now. If music is your passion this is the place to be, right in the heart of Central Square, Cambridge. You will not be disappointed. Starr Sarabia, Portland, Maine
