This popular Beacon Hill bar gets jam-packed on the weekends and tends to draw the 20's-something crowd. The Beacon Hill Pub has all the characteristics of a college bar with few bar stools and a lot of people standing around enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and company. The crowd tends to feature those a little older than your typical college students but it is definitely a young, hip group. Beer prices are reasonable and there are pinball machines, videogames, dartboards and even a juke box.

3 reviews for Beacon Hill Pub
Worst bar in Boston 1985
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/07
I was in Boston in 1985 serving in the Coast Guard. My shipmates and I started hanging out at the BHP because it was a 15 minute walk, the beer was reasonable (this was when wine-coolers reigned-don't remember wine coolers?)& the dress code was relaxed but not too relaxed. It was a dark place with no blaring music-plus it had a TV (our cutter didn't have TV reception at all). I never saw anybody get out of line and the bartenders were always good. The only problem I ever had was walking the stickyness from the floor off the soles of my shoes. When we found out it was voted worst bar in Boston-1985 we all knew we had found a real home. The guy in the review said it was like walking into the bar from Star Wars. Ever since that day I never took any stock in those types of reviews. All the other places we went to are now gone. Beacon Hill Pub. Those were the good ol' days.

Oh the memories...
By A Yahoo! User, 08/01/07
I moved away from Boston 13 years ago but the memories I have from the Beacon Hill Pub will stay with me forever. A great neighborhood place-best when the college students are gone. Like I said it's been a long time and I'm an old lady in my forties now but I am sure the BHP is as fun for young Boston as it used to be.

You have to go at least once.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/04
I really can't remember much. It twas a foggy night...as are all nights after leaving the BHP. If you have never been--you should go. Minus the Thursday crowd, college students, the BHP is something straight out of the movie "Bar Fly".
