Riverside Park

Description

This small park, just south of the Inner Harbor, offers a gigantic, well-kept public swimming pool, where neighborhood children swim for a dollar a day during July and August. There are plenty of benches, and a small gazebo offers a shady spot for a picnic lunch.

Bad rep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/11
Baltimore is a great small city. Don't let people like lindacruiser scare you away. Like with almost any city, you have to be careful and smart. I have lived here for 6 years with absolutely no problems.

Riverside Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/09
This is a nice neighborhood park that is perfect for walking your dog and conversing w/ your neighbors. There are ball fields where the local kickball, softball and football adult leagues play their games and well as the local high school teams sometimes practice. There is a small, fenced playground for kids. The park can be a little dark/scary at night since there is not much lighting, but the park is not really supposed to be used at night anyways. Residents of this area, like myself, see this park as a great ammenity.

sweet & simple

Great spot for a picnic, if you can tolerate dogs. Skip the pool in the summer, it ain't what it used to be. Unfortunately, City Parks & Recreation have let management ruin the pool.

MY PLAYGROUND
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
IN THE 1970'S THIS WAS OUR FANSTASY LAND THE PAVAILLION WAS OUR CASTLE AND THE CANNONS THERE ON THE HILL WERE OUR HORSES, FUNNY WHAT A CHILD'S MIND CAN DREAM UP. I USED TO SLEIGH RIDE THERE IN THE WINTER AND PLAY BASEBALL IN THE SUMMER. I WAS EXCITED WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE A DANCE AT THE REC CENTER. HAD A CRUSH ON A BOY WHO SKATBOARDED IN THE SKATEBOARD BOWL THAT WAS INSTALLED. ALL THE KIDS IN THE 1700 BLOCK OF COVINGTON STREET IN THE SUMMER WOULD BE ABLE TO STAY OUT LATE AND PLAY CATCHERS, SPUD AND RED ROVER, I THINK THOSE DAY ARE GONE....WELL IT'S NICE TO REMEMBER A MORE INNOCENT TIME. THANK YOU, TRACIE
