House of Broel's Victorian Mansion and Doll House Museum, New Orleans

Wow... I can not begin to express in words the experience we had when we had a wedding recently at House of Broel. Ms Bonnie and her staff are each and everyone fabulous. My son and daughter in law came to me and said they wanted to get married immediately. With a breif visit and a few emails, within a few weeks they were able to have a wedding they never dreamed of having.And because of the reasonable price and all inclusive packages, i was able to afford to give them a beautiful weddiing to start out their new lives together. Ms Bonnie managed what most planners take months if not years to do in a few short weeks. In additon to making sure everything was just as the bride and grrom wanted, she also kept me from completely stressing out and falling apart. From the traffic delays making us late arriving (with the bride of course) , the last minute un-conventional bridal party adjustments, even when right before the ceremony I realized I had forgotten to let them know that the bride and groom had decided to have the ceremony inside rather than in the courtyard (and they had already set up the courtyard)... every thing from the tiniest to the more complicated issues, Ms Bonnie and her staff handled it quickly and extremely calm. Including keeping me together. She had 4 ceremonies scheduled for that day and still managed to make us feel like we were the center of her attention from the time we arrived to the time we left. The mansion and the courtyard are breathtaking. But honestly, with the beautiful words and her angelic & calming voice that Ms Bonnie has, she could have performed the ceremony anywhere and it would have been great. I spent the entire ceremony wiping tears (as well as a number of the other guest as well), it was so touching and I can not describe the feelings that overcome me. Every thing from the time we walked thru the beautiful front of the house was perfectly performed. My son and daughter in law are so thankful for the wonderful memories that they will have to cherish of their wedding day. And should they forget then there are plenty of beautiful pictures both inside the mansion and outside in the courtyard for them to remind themselves with. Ms Bonnie and her staff treated the bride, groom and each and every guest with every bit of the southern grace, charm, pride, and elegance that one would expect from a true Southern Belle and the hospitality of her home! Anyone wanting a beautiful and calm wedding needs to speak with Ms Bonnie. And pick up or order a copy of her book because it is just as fabulous as she is! Thank yall so much for helping me give my son and his new bride a beautiful storybook wedding!

When my daughter came to me with the news that she and her fiancé had decided to move their wedding date up so that they could be married before he deployed to Afghanistan, she said very sadly that she recognized that, since that was only six weeks away, she would not be able to have a ceremony. Having just attended a lovely wedding at the House of Broel, I contacted Ms. Broel immediately and explained my circumstance. In deference to my future son-in-laws deployment, she immediately insisted that she would do whatever she could to accommodate our situation. I was extremely gratified to see both she and her staff spring into action to assist. Within six weeks, we were able to have a wedding that appeared to have been planned for months. This would not have been possible without Ms. Broel and her staff. My husband and I will be forever grateful for the lovely day that the House of Broel played such a large part in.

I had doubts about a "package" wedding but the experience was wonderful! Ms. Broel and her staff made this event carefree and beautiful. Anyone looking for a great wedding this is the place. The food was tops and everything went like clock work. There were no worries and the day was magic! Ms. Broel was great and very friendly to all of our guest.

My daughter's wedding took place last night at the House of Broel and I couldn't wait to leave this recommendation. Bonnie Broel and her staff personally catered to our every need. They were on hand from the moment the Bridal party arrived until they helped us gather our things at the end of the reception. The food service was generous and friendly. All of our guests commented on the beautiful setting and the personal treatment we received from Bonnie and her staff. There was nothing for us to worry about except enjoying the company of our guests and leaving all details to the House of Broel. We highly recommend this venue for anyone wanting a wedding with every detail taken care of for you. It was truly a night to remember. As a side note...Bonnie Broel personally took us on a tour of the upstairs doll museum and gave us a history lesson on this beautiful mansion. It was the icing on the cake and a lovely gesture from her. Thank you, Bonnie. We hope to return for future weddings!

Our experience at the House of Broel was absolutely wonderful! Ms. Broel and her staff do an amazing job; the service and hospitality are excellent! Everything is included in the cost of the wedding/reception except for your flowers and photography! It saved my husband and I from a huge headache!

WEDDING WAS WONDERFUL, FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND ATMOSPHERE WAS AMAZING. MRS. BONNIE BROEL CATERED TO ALL OF OURNEEDS AND WAS AN EXCELLENT HOSTESS. RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAVE A WEDDING.

Awful experience. Owner would not give any refund although wedding was canceled 8 months in advance due to an - honest to God - groom's twin brother's devastating car accident. We were both 20 something, that paid from own own pocket all of our wedding expenses --- she kept almost all of our money... until now we feel that she took advantage of our unfortunate situation.

Before huricaine Katrina came my bridemaids placed a deposit on their dresss. I also placed a deposit on my wedding dress. She would not refund any of my bridemaids deposit back because the wedding was canceled due to Katrina. She was rude and nasty over the phone and harrased my mother in law by calling her numerous times until she paid for her dress. Through all of this the most surprising thing was that she never called me or contacted me(the bride). I would not recommend doing business with this women.

We spend thousands of dollars on our wedding reception, pre-Katrina. The house is beautiful. I booked 2 years out in advance with no one else on the books for months. I was assured, "Oh, you KNOW I am a business woman and will take care of everything," from Mrs. Broel herself. The food was expected to be delicious as I was assured her husband was in that industry. We had to hound her for contracts to get signed. Things were missing in the contracts such as extra tables. ONLY the price she was to receive was in there, leaving room for error. We had to write all the extra in ourselves before signing. Guests from 8 different states and 3 foreign countries coplained about our "rude" hostess. My Godmother showed me a piece of cheese with mold on it & at TWO minutes after the hour she had her hand on my back shoving me out the door due to her tight booking! FOUL mouth as well!

I am the bride and I think I had a beautiful wedding. I believe the house is beautiful and I really liked the outdoor courtyard. Everything was going well until I get bombarded with several complaints from many of my guests that the owner had been rude to them. Some of these people had traveled hundreds of miles just to be there on our big day and instead of being greeted with a little of New Orleans' famous southern hospitality, they were greeted by Mrs. Bonnie Broel. To be fair, I will say that Mrs Broel's employees were very helpful, very courteous, and not at all rude like she is. If I could do it all again, I would take her out of the equation.
