Located on a bank of the Mississippi River, the cathedral is considered one of the greatest symbols of Catholicism on the North American continent.

It is truly fitting that Jackson Square, undoubtedly the heart and soul of New Orleans, is dominated by the majestic St Louis Cathedral. Located within the French Quarter and a short walk from the CBD, it is difficult to miss this beautiful piece of architecture. The best place for a photo is from the top of the staircase towards the river. And while you are here, do take some time to enjoy Jackson Square, which is constantly energized by the colorful jazz musicians and out-of-this-world entertainers.
