This New Orleans institution features rock 'n' roll while you bowl. Bowlers have a fantastically fun time as they dance to the sounds of zydeco and swing. The authentically gaudy bowling alley features swing on Tuesdays, zydeco on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and a mixed bag of performers on the weekends. Typical bar food and surprisingly good entrees are featured, as well as beverages both alcoholic and non. This fun spot also caters weddings and conventions.

Always a good time.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/05
Ther's always different types of music and people there. Great atmosphere and dancing. The bowling lanes are a bit old and unkept, but you don't go there to win a trophy, it's just fun to get your drink on and bowl.

zydeco paradise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/05
There is no place in the world that is better for zydeco dancing. Go on a Thursday, see and hear the top zydeco bands, bring a partner or find one there in the very friendly crowd. If you are not into zydeco, the music is still great and danceable to many other steps.

I hope it will be preserved
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
Oddly I chose to wait until after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina to write this. But I am hoping Rock and Bowl will be up and running again soon. I rated it only a 3 because it was so crowded that I couldn't get a good idea of what the place is REALLY like. We were there for the last weekend of Jazz Fest this year (2005), on Saturday. My sole purpose was to see Snooks Eaglin live, up close and personal. Unfortunately that didn't happen. We, HEARD him, but the crowd was so huge I got nowhwere near the stage and never even saw him. By the time we left, the crowd outside was as big as the one inside. It was nuts. Well at least I got my Rock N Bowl bowling shirt and drank a few Abitas, so it was not a total loss that night. My hope is that I will get another opportunity to go there on a future visit. The people of New Orleans have plenty of spirit and a love for their traditions, so if it's at all possible to re-open the RnB I'm sure they will.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/05
TALK ABOUT A GOOD TIME!!! Forget Bourbon street! this place is the best place to go in New Orleans! Food was Great! Drinks Were Strong! Bartenders were HOT! We danced all night to some GREAT live music! And then when We thought it was all over... The owner himself, pulled out a handfull of hoola-hoops and we all had a WHIRL! look forward to coming back again and again!

One of my Best Times was HERE

dont let the neighborhood fool you - cabs are no problem! Thrusdays are Zydeco nites and if you like to dance, youll love this place. You can have a good time here no matter what your age, shape, size or color - I will always plan to go to the Rock N Bowl when in New Orleans!

Nuthin' but a good time!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/04
My legs are still sore from dancing on the bar! Awesome - great people, great music, I saw The Bucktown All-Stars play. We each ate a bowl of gumbo and crawfish quesadilllas and downed a couple of the local Abita Amber drafts. We ate, drank, danced and bowled for under $30. It's a deal that can't be beat - and it's the ONLY Rock 'n' Bowl in the country.
