This cafe was opened in 1989 by Nina Buck and is now one of the most stylish jazz haunts in the Quarter. Palm Court is an elegant setting for top-notch jazz groups, Wednesday through Sunday. Its kitchen serves a variety of traditional Cajun and Creole dishes so you may dine as you listen to great music. Entrees include the Shrimp Ambrosia and Creole Beef Indienne; try the Chocolate Mousse for dessert. Reservations are recommended. Cover charge is $4 per person at tables, but there is no cover at the bar.

I'll be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/08
Absolutely outstanding music; some of the top New Orleans musicians play here. What a bargain! The food I had (mushroom artichoke salad and red beans and rice) was excellent; service was competent and quite friendly. The locals at the bar know it's all about the music and help give the place a neighborhood feel. I think some of the tourists don't realize they're enjoying concert-quality nationally recognized jazz musicians for their dinner music.

Will NOT return

This onlything I did like was the music...Food not worth the price...Not to mention when do you pay a cover for a place that serves dinner..... This is the only resurant in New Orleans that charges a cover even though you eat dinner there. My opinion is that you shouldn't have to pay a cover if you are eating there and tipping and the cost of the food is way over priced. There was no real presitation in the food either.

Very Unhappy Experience
By angie, 05/13/05
The best I can say is that the waitress was wonderful. To start off, it took 20 minutes to find a parking spot 7 blocks from the restaurant. (Admittedly always a hassle in the French Quarter.) The wait after being seated for the appetizer (crawfish tails-lacked spices) was one hour. It was 45 minutes later that we got our entree for a total of 1hr 45min for our food after being seated. We felt the food was overpriced for the quality with a salmon very comparable to Red Lobster and a rubbery steak although the shimp pasta was thought to be very good. A member of our party was charged 3.00 to smoke at the bar. He did not order a drink. We were shocked when we received our bill to note that we were charge 10.00 plus tax/ per person to listen to the music. (The music was excellent by the way) We were not told a cover was being charged, luckily we had the money to cover this. Without ordering any alcoholic beverages and only one appetizer, no desserts, our four entrees came to 150.00 plus 30.00 for a tip. Overall this was NOT A 180.00 experience for four people. We were very disappointed and a lot lighter in the pocket after our experience.
