Harrah's New Orleans Casino, New Orleans

The rooms were wonderful -very clean, well kept. The desk staff was friendly but incredibly incompetent. We were woke up by the front desk at 3 AM. by someone asking if we had a problem and there was a noise complaint against us. We had been sound asleep since 10:30 pm. When I asked what she was talking about, she just laughed and claimed to have "dialed the wrong number" or something stupid like that. I was waiting to check my room charges and 3 of them were struggling with the register to make change using an electronic register or whatever it was for a guy buying a news paper. I'm sorry, but they all just appeared incredibly stupid or just didn't care. The rest of the staff seemed ok. Everything in the place is over-priced, food, coffee, water.. I suggest waking up and getting out of there in the morning and having coffee in the French Quarter. Coffee = over 4 bucks for an average sized luke warm cup. Bottled water = 4 bucks a bottle. The casino was ok, about average. The drink service was decent and the machine were not very tight. I noticed no 5 dollar minimum tables, everything was 10 or 25, but that is ok because it keeps the riff-raff away. Security was good. The casino was clean. Overall - Room = good. Casino = good. Desk Staff = awful. Other Staff = good. Pricing = terrible. I will stay there again, but with much lower expectations and I will make it a point to spend as little time and money in the hotel's businesses as possible.

We recently visited New Orleans for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the city, especially the new Harrah's hotel and casino. The hotel is not only classy but is exceptionally clean, both inside and out. The casino is comfortable, clean, friendly and the decor is beautiful. Be sure to pay attention to the details in the design in the casino or you will miss them. The location can not be beat - just footsteps away from the French Quarter, river, shopping, dining, partying, etc. We are cancelling our fall trip to Vegas to go back. We can't wait.
