Public Garden, Boston

Definitely check out the Garden - it's one of my favorite parts of the city. In the spring it's covered in tulips (beautiful!) - during the summer it's a great place to enjoy some of the little greenery Boston has to offer. It's right in the heart of the city, bordered by the theater district, Downtown Crossing, and Beacon Hill. Take a ride on the swan boats, or just relax and people-watch. It's a wonderful little oasis from the city.

Not a thrilling ride, but fun on a sunny day. The kids really enjoyed it.

Lots of areas were filled with beggars and homeless. I liked the food kiosks and suggest my tea rooms...

The swan boats were a very relaxing thing to do!

The Public Gardens are absolutely beautiful! I was stunned that a public area could have such amazing flowers and plants. This garden is well mapped out with plenty of places to sit and relax. There is a lake with swan rides that many people enjoy, but don't plan on being able to throw a frisbee or anything like that because there are plenty of "keep off the grass" areas. Along with the flora, there are many statues (I know, I know, there is a statue in almost every corner of Boston) but the George Washington statue is famous and really cool to see. The Public Garden is located across the street from the Boston Common, but it is not filled with homeless people and litter like the Common is. We spent a whole afternoon here (and we're in our early 20s) then went shopping in a nearby district. We highly recommend planning to spend a couple of afternoon hours here. Best of all...it's free!

The Commons and the public gardens are a wonderful place to people watch and take in a very nice atmosphere. Lovely in spring and summer. Lots of old Boston wrapped around it.

I like this place because was the first place that I visited when I was in the USA, afther to this place I went with my boyfriends and he promess me that he promised me that he would make a castle for my in that place like christman gift. I will go again in DEcember to see if this is reality.

We have to go again. It was so beautiful. We had a lovely picnic lunch there and it was so relaxing. The grounds are amazing. Staff was always working and making the park lovely for all. They were helpful

Just sit in the grass and enjoy the lake and everything around you.

Don't tell first-timers that the swan boats aren't actually powered by swans. Relaxing stop when you're doing 250 years of history, culture, science, etc. in one day.
