Description

Just across Charles Street from the Boston Common, Public Garden is elegantly landscaped with flower beds, lagoons, walking paths and statues, including a notable monument of George Washington on a horse. You can watch couples posing for their wedding photos every summer weekend. The children's story Make Way for Ducklings took place here, and there is a popular sculpture of the ducklings in the northeast corner of the park. A ride in the famous Swan Boats is an essential experience for any visitor.

Always a Nice Time

I love the atmosphere, it is like a safer and smaller Central Park. There are beautiful flowers, trees and fountains everywhere and it is always a nice place just to rest and read a book.

A relaxing oasis in the middle of the city

I love the relaxing atmosphere and greenary in the Public Garden. It's a great place to sit down and read a book, have a slice of pizza from Upper Crust or just to watch the world go by. The Public Garden is truly a Boston treasure!

Nice little escape from the city

Definitely check out the Garden - it's one of my favorite parts of the city. In the spring it's covered in tulips (beautiful!) - during the summer it's a great place to enjoy some of the little greenery Boston has to offer. It's right in the heart of the city, bordered by the theater district, Downtown Crossing, and Beacon Hill. Take a ride on the swan boats, or just relax and people-watch. It's a wonderful little oasis from the city.

Great for an afternoon

The Commons and the public gardens are a wonderful place to people watch and take in a very nice atmosphere. Lovely in spring and summer. Lots of old Boston wrapped around it.

A Walk in the Park

Visiting the Pubic Garden was a wonderful experience. It was like walking into the book "Make Way for the Ducklings", only better. Riding the swan boats, seeing the ducks and swans on the pond, beautiful flowers and the history; it was just great. We played leep-frog with the duck famiy from the book, and watched art students paint senes of the park. It was a beautiful, peaceful place amist the skyline of Boston.

Garden secret

Don't tell first-timers that the swan boats aren't actually powered by swans. Relaxing stop when you're doing 250 years of history, culture, science, etc. in one day.

It was a Total Family Experience

We have to go again. It was so beautiful. We had a lovely picnic lunch there and it was so relaxing. The grounds are amazing. Staff was always working and making the park lovely for all. They were helpful

beautiful English garden

Lots of areas were filled with beggars and homeless. I liked the food kiosks and suggest my tea rooms...

Don't leave without going here

A mortal sin would be to go to Boston and leaving without seeing the Public Gardens, you don't have to pay anything to enter it and I can honestly say that it will be a place that you never forget.
