Description

While no longer the world's tallest building, the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) still stands proud. High-speed elevators climb 110 stories to the observatory deck, and when clear, the view from 1454 feet (443 meters) can be stunning. Enjoy bird's eye views of Lake Michigan, the North and South Sides of the city, the surrounding suburbs and, on a clear day, parts of Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The Skydeck Tour also includes a multimedia presentation and an exhibit with information on the Sears Tower and other architecturally significant buildings.

The messurment for tallest building includes spire but not antena so the top flor of the sears tower is above the top floor of the Petronis tower (current offical record holder) but the spire on the petronis tower's extend above the top floor of the sears tower while the antena on the sears tower extends above the spire of the petronis, but the antena isn't counted.

Too comercialized

I thought that the view was extremely nice and it is well worth going doing. You can see up to 4 states (If it is clear outside), and there are all kinds of little history tidbits to learn about. However it is way to commercialized. There are so many shops you have to walk through to get to the skydeck. Then there is the food court, and they try to sell you pictures and it was just too much. I would still say it is worth it, but be prepared.

Nice but....

First of all, it is important that everyone who's visiting Chicago for the first time experiences the Sears Tower, however, it's certainly not something you need to do more than once. It is a thrill seeing Chi-town from that high, but once was enough!

Good way to burn an hour

The view was neat, but they need to update the movie they show you before you go up. It's from '96 and out-of-date. Really touristy but overall a nice way to spend an hour if you have never been up there. They should have student ticket prices!

I loved my visit to the Sears Tower. The view at the top is breathtaking. One thing I especially was pleased about was that I could get a written script for the little movie they played before we rode up. Since I am deaf, that helped a lot!

The Sears Tower has an amazing view, the best in all of Chicago! The elevator is very fast, it'll make your ears pop.

THE VIEW IS BREATH-TAKING!

THE VIEW IS AMAZING, CHICAGO IS A BEAUTIFUL CITY. WITH LOTS TO DO. THE ONLY THING THAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THE SEARS TOWER IS THE ELEVATOR RIDE ITS QUITE A HIKE UP THERE, BUT WELL WORTH IT IN THE END. I AM SO LUCKY TO LIVE IN A CITY LIKE CHICAGO.
