American Girl Place, Chicago

it wuz a beauty! and those who say its not great, you don't know beauty! i loved the shopping places! all unique and of our chicagos old times. any way i loved it and if you haven't been there, go & give a review! I LUV U WATER TOWER AND UR WATER TOWER PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Water Tower is a fine place to check out, but there is no need to spend a lot of time there. I am in love with "Clarks" shoes so I am sure to stop in whenever I am there. But the stores here are old hat and you can find many other unique stores along Michigan. The food court is too busy but is better than fast food. Make a point to visit, but treat it as a quick stop.

I live within an easy walk of WTP. There are worse malls in the world. There are worse malls in Chicago, for that matter. There is even a worse mall on Michigan Avenue (Chicago Place at 700 N Michigan). But I still think that Water Tower Place is the second-worst mall on Michigan Avenue. It's awkward to navigate, the Macy's in it is a shadow of the Macy's on State Street. Lord and Taylor has left. The food area is not tempting and is overprice. There are a few gems here, like a Harry and David store, WowBao at the main entrance, and Crane's Paper. But for the most part, I'd rather be elsewhere on the "Magnificent Mile".

It was totally awsome. You should go there. Its in downtown. Yes it was fun. But no noin. Go there have fun. Like to hang out and hang low well if you wann go DL hang with your bddues there. You may even find soemin you like. SUPPORT CHICAGO! KEEP IT ALIVE! HAVE FUN! BE ACTIVE!

It is a exciting area at night...very busy with all kinds of people. The water tower place although was like any other mall around. Alot of stores that sell the same stuff. And my friend and I were dissapointed that they did not sell/or have any stores for us curvy girls to shop at. So we would skip it next time we went...

We did Michigan Avenue and finished our shopping day at the Water Tower Place. It's a huge mall with all the stores familiar to everyone. Michigan Ave is nice, but it's just all the mall stores anyway. They are just bigger than in my hometown. I like being in a climate controlled environment and not have to brave traffic.

What is this article saying? The Mag Mile is magnificent and Water Tower is it's crown jewel. Some stores are costly, but one can surely relish the experience and flavor without buying one thing.

This may be the crown jewel of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, but to a non-shopper like me, it is just another expensive downtown shopping mall. Come here for window shopping or grab a quick bite, and be on your way to the next downtown attraction.

The shopping here is amazing!! It is not cheap, by any means but it is still amazing! In reguards to the "beggers" comment from pridners2002 from Murfreesboro, TN, I have to say that I have been to Chicago every year for the last 4 years and I have NEVER been approached by a begger. This is one reason I don't mind bringing my kids back year after year!

The Old Water Tower is right in the middle of all the shopping on Michigan Avenue so it was the perfect place to take a break from all of the walking that we did. It was a neat building to see in the middle of skyscrapers. The only problem with this area was all of the beggers. There were three or four that came by asking for money in the 20 minutes that we were there. There was also a crazy lady screaming at people when they walked by her so she made the experience an bit uncomfortable at times.
