Description

Nestled on the coast of Lake Michigan, this indoor aquatic world the John G. Shedd Aquarium is home to more than 650 species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, birds and mammals from across the globe. Explore Caribbean waters at the 90,000-gallon (340,690-liter) coral reef exhibit, or watch whales and dolphins play during marine mammal shows. Eat at Soundings restaurant, where you will find a panoramic view of Lake Michigan, or in the Bubble Net food court. Aquatic souvenirs are available in the gift shop. DO NOT GO if youve been to Sea world

I know a lot of people may think i'm crazy, But this is me and my families opinion. We've already been to sea world so that may be why we think thi place is a WASTE for the $25. I kid you not this is the dolphin show they tout as "SHOW" is about 10 minutes with 3 dolphins doing a few flips. If you want to see aquatic creatures go to sea world, dont go to shed. SERIOUSLY. But i have to say that the view you get of the chocago sky line from the shed doorstep and surounding area is simply SUPERB. I would recomened NOT going inside shed but go there for the VIEW. simply the best view ever.

Fish watching

Not as much to see here as in the zoo's but still OK. A bit pricey for the lack of stuff I thought but still not bad. Too cheap to pay any more to see it all so maybe next time?

Too many fish. No, not really but there was not much to do, not worth the money, if it was free then maybe it would have earned a better rating.

Decent

The Shedd is fun and you can see many amazing and beautiful marin life, but it gets boring after awhile. The dolphin show usually isn't worth it, as it doesn't last very long. The sharks are cool-looking, but aren't quite what you might hope for. Food offers are also lacking, and don't eat in the lower-level cafe, as there is a view of the dolphin tank and you will very well see the dolphins doing things you would rather not see, if you get my drift, and it could be difficult to eat.

Amazing Exhibits - really submerse yourself in the aquatic world. So much better than sea world for less than 1/2 the price. The dolphin show is very educational, its not all about leaps and jumps - teaches about the environment and the animals. The shark exhibit is fantastic - they come right up to the glass and you can go nose to nose. Definately recommend.

I loved every inch of it!

I loved the show of the dolphins and their is nothing that I would change about it. It is very good for kids. It is a very enjoyable and learning experience.

I liked this place. it had some interesting fish and stuff and a cool dolphin show. the only thing was that the whale was having a baby so i couldnt see the whale. but it was pretty cool.

Not all its cracked up to be.

Way too expensive, not very interactive. Overall, fairly disappointing. Dolphin show was the best part but you can go to Sea World for cheaper and see a better show.

ADULTS NOT!!!

I feel the shedd is a good place for kids, but it really was as exciting for me. There wasnt alot of activities for adults and it was just not a good value for my money. I enjoy wildlife especially water life, but there just wasnt alot of enjoyment for the cost.

Love the fish

This is one of the best water, fish exhibits in the world! There is a nice dolphin exhibit. The staff is very knowledgable. Great views of the Lake and easy access from the busy surrounding streets.
