Intimidating at first, then welcoming

The crowd is definitely mixed, and not primarily gay. That includes some of the crossdressers at the bar and the men paying them attention. Very often this is the scene of bachelorette parties, and many out-of-towners shows up here for somthing they can't see elsewhere. The entertainers are gorgeous and funny, and the bartenders friendly. Sometimes there are shady characters hanging out near the entrance, particularly paying attention to the crossdressers, but one can always duck back inside for safety if one is nervous. Cabs know the place and drop you right in front, and regularly come by as shows get out. Prices are not cheap, but not out of sight, either. Always bring plenty of cash to tip the entertainers - it's not easy to look as good as they do saddled with the testosterone they were born with. They mingle with the crowd between shows and are very pleasant people to know. Every major city should have a Baton.
