Kitty O'Shea's may not be an authentic Irish pub, but, for a hotel bar, it is pretty darn close. There are dartboards on the wall, an Irishman behind the bar and plenty of Guinness and pub grub to go around. After drinking for awhile and listening to the live Irish music, you might just forget that you are actually off the lobby of the posh Chicago Hilton and Towers Hotel. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, this is a great spot for lunch or just to take a break from your sightseeing. It is less crowded than the other Loop restaurants and bars and far more relaxed.

6 reviews for Kitty O'Shea's
go as often as possible
By Mombo, 04/13/07
Charming Irish Pub. We have been going every year for St. Pat's Day- crowded yes-but so is every other Irish pub. The food is good, drinks-a bit pricy- but a good pour. The wait staff are from Ireland which adds a nice touch to the authentic atmosphere. The music is why we go. Moore and Broaders are excellent. Eammon Brady- the manager keeps an eye on everyone and sometimes even joins the band!! I suggest going down any other time and sit back and enjoy the music.

Overpriced!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
We spent St. Patrick's day weekend in Chicago, IL and we looked for authentic Irish pubs to hang out in. Kitty O'Shea's left a bad taste in our mouth. You had to wait in line to get in by a bouncer, the people there were all yuppies, and a beer, a domestic beer, was $5! If you ask me the time we spent there was a waste and needless to say we only stayed for one drink. I would never suggest this pub to anyone. There were far more places you can hang out in that had less people, better ambiance, and cheaper prices. We never had to wait in line at any other pub for the rest of the weekend.

Kitty O'Shea's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/06
Irt the previous posting, I have just returned from Chicago and am happy to confirm that Yes, Kitty O'Shea's is still very much part of the Hilton and Moore & Broaders are still playing there. Heard them play a song about Chicago but sadly it's not on their CD. Anyone any idea what this is called and whether they wrote it or if it's a cover? A great time and a darned good pint of Guiness! Thanks Guys and see you next time I'm in the Windy City.

Are Moore and Broaders still there?
By Dave, 03/02/06
My wife and I went to Chicago in 1998 for our honeymoon and stayed in the Chicago Hilton and Towers. It was so darned cold that all we did was hang out in the lobby of the hotel, in the Kitty O'Shea's Pub -- and WOW were we glad it was cold outside! It was just awesome. Does anyone know if Moore and Broaders are still playing there? I'd like to suprise my wife to a trip back to Chicago, her favorite city! Is Kitty O'Shea's still in the Hilton?

Never a dull moment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/04
I stopped into Kitty O'Shea's one Saturday evening on the suggestion of a friend, and enjoyed it so much I've been going back frequently ever since. I'm not one for the whole "bar/club" scene, so the pub is perfect. You can enjoy a superb dinner, friendly waitstaff, and wonderful bartenders. Every one there is simply fantastic. Their regular music consists of a couple of gentlemen that go by the name of Moore & Broaders, and once you've heard them, you won't want to leave. There are no rowdy drunkards at Kitty O'Shea's. Just wonderful, congenial Irish employees who are more than happy to talk with you as they quickly and efficiently serve you your dinner or drinks.
