Located right in the midst of the Rush and Division nightlife strip, Bar Chicago pulsates with DJ-spun dance music, including plenty of tunes from the 1980s. Tourists and suburbanites mix on the dance floor with young professionals from the surrounding neighborhoods. Too shy to dance? You can watch the fun from a balcony as the wild lighting illuminates the crowds below. Expect to see women dancing on the bar. Bar Chicago is open late and draw a big crowd when the two o'clock bars shut down.
I disagree with the negative comments about the dress code. The comment before me is correct. Most places have a dress code. If you come is looking "hood", then you're not getting in BAR Chicago, or most other places. Sorry to say, but we're not all "adults", and some people don't understand that businesses must keep a standard. You be happy that someone is civilized enough to not let you in because of your clothing rather tell you it's because of your race. Bottom line, come back with proper dress code and then you can come in.
I just have to say that Bar Chicago was one of the most fun places I have been to around Chicago!! And in response to "I wish they would let me in"... instead of making excuses about why you couldn't get in, take responsibility for yourself. If you can't follow dress code (which most places have) then you aren't going to get in. What I saw there was a very diverse crowd, they did not seem to have any sort of racial discrimination there. And the staff was great. They were soo much fun to dance with and all seemed to love their job.
Its a great place to go but if you come off being to hood they will make up any excuse not to let you in (ex...Baggy pants, Timboz, Shirt with any logoz etc...Not to mention the way you talk) Theyll never tell you the reason they wont let you in is because your a Latino or that your a Brother but cop out on some lame excuse about your apparel. That can be because their security staff might have insecurities against minorities and how we might act even though were all adults. Sure they bump some Biggie, 50 and Pac here and there at Bar Chicago but thats as far as they want that experience to go. Also I was told that the place was categorized as a club and not a bar. Well I guess theyll tell you anything just to exclude you from having a great time. But only if your a Latino or Brother or some Gheeto White Boy from the hood. Peace out
