Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters
Middle Fork Wilderness Outfitters provides visitors the opportunity to explore the middle fork of the Salmon River, which includes over 80 rapids over 100 miles of river. June is the best month for experiencing white rapids, while July and August is best for a more relaxing trip where you can enjoy scenic views. The outfitter provides trips down the river on oar boats, paddle boats and kayaks for those who want to get in on the action.
Some friends and I were lucky enough to take a week vacation last spring and do one of the most incredible rafting trips I've ever done. The Owyhee is like Idaho's own little Grand Canyon. It's secluded and beautiful and certainly earns its new classification as a Wild & Scenic River. Bring your camera. If you aren't an experienced rafter there are plenty of outfitters to show you the ropes. We went with Wilderness River Outfitters, out of Salmon Idaho.
This weekend my family floated the Boise River and we couldn't help but go back for more! Twice in one day! The water was cold, but with the hot temps we were cool in the sun the whole day! One thing you will need is some good sun screen! Enjoy one of the best highlights of Boise!

This is a great way for the whole family to cool down in the summertime together. The shuttle service will take you from Ann Morrison to Barber Park, so that you can float down 2-3 hours to your vehicle. It is a slow relaxing river with a few rapids here and there to keep it fun!
Peacefully float through nature preserves, past homes, offices, parks and Boise State University. A lovely and refreshing way to see the city. You can rent rafts or tubes at Barber Park in the summer or use your own.
