Unimpressed by Neurolux
I just recently had moved back from Vegas (where I grew up) when I first went to the Neurolux. The band was pretty good, but the atmosphere was horrible. Apparently it's where are all the 'cool' people in Boise hang out. I was there in line at the bar, once we got to the front of the line, after being ignored by waitresses for about ten minutes, we were ignored by the bartender for about 5 minutes before my friend and I left. We went to Terrapin Station, where we listened to a great Jam/Reggae band, drank some beers and danced the night away. Neurolux tries too hard, good times are not to be had at Neurolux. I would much rather go somewhere like: Pengillys, Bouqet, Terrapin Station, Reef or Tom Grainey’s where you have better chances of doing so. I was really just thinking, 'seriously' the hole time I was at Neurolux. I don't know if the theme there is Emo or Punk, I think that they try to be an Indie bar, maybe they should venture out of Boise and do a little more research. And work on being less-hypocritical. Where getting a beer is standard and being accepted while listening to good music comes standard too. And even on the off-chance where the band is not what you’re in to, you can still have a good time, if it’s just chatting with the other patrons or even with a staff member.
