When the water is calm, this beach is a lovely swimming spot. The tide pools, located in a sheltered spot on the point of the beach, are great for snorkeling during calm days. It should be mentioned that, as with most beaches on the north shore, the surf here gets dangerously high during the wintertime. It also "cranks" sometimes during the summer. If you are not a strong swimmer or avid surfer, definitely check the local surf report before driving to this North Shore park.

Most beautiful sunset

This is a place people flock to watch a sunset at. It really is pretty. There's also some pretty huge waves there in the winter time. We'll definitely watch a sunset there again when we go back in February!

After walking a long stretch of sand, you find it goes down to the ocean and see some awesome waves in the winter (and even the summer). Fantastic surfing, body boarding, and goofing around... not too crowded

it was the most beautiful place i have ever seen. its hard to believe there are things in the world that hold so much beauty and awe and that we get caught up in the daily grind that we forget about these places.

Great great FUN

Sunset Beach is one by far one of the prettiest beaches on Oahu--not to mention the amazing surfing to watch. If you surf, good luck! Overall, the beach vibe is one of relaxation and fun...a very down-to-earth spot.
