Description

Located just a few short blocks from Waikiki Beach, this is a great place to learn about Hawaii's amazing ocean world. You can see 400 different species at this small but mighty museum, including monk seals, sharks and sea turtles. A knowledgeable staff is on hand to narrate tours and answer questions. The aquarium has a good gift shop where you can ask about special events and excursions. It offers some terrific educational and community outreach programs.

Not bad....

We needed something to get out of the HISTORICAL RAIN OF MARCH 2006, so we opted to go to the Aquarium. Price was right and although not the Shedd Aquarium, like in Chicago, it is cute, small, and just right.

If you love to see fish then the Aquarium is for you. The kids love it and it combines outside with inside fun. Great price for the scenery that you get with the place.

i will never go back again

We signed up to swim with the dolphins. big mistake everything they say we were going to do we didn't do because the morning tour did it. IT WAS A WAS'T OF A WHOLE DAY AND A WAIST OF MONEY

An educational experience

The Waikiki Aquarium is a small, but well laid out facility right on the beach, and between the hotels and Diamond Head. It has many of the beautiful tropical creatures of the islands, including the fascinating Nautilus and bioluminescent fish. We are from the Seattle area, and the aquarium here is much more extensive, but we still found the Waikiki Aquarium to be a worthy adventure.

Must See

If you want to experience real Hawaii you must look into the ocean. This aquarium has a beautiful display of local sea life. It is excellent for children.

It was okay

If you have been to a large aquarium like Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, CA you will not be impressed. They did have a seahorse though that looked like it was part seaweed, and that was really terrific. They had little sea urchins you could touch, etc. We were there about an hour and a half. Parking is extremely limited.

Close to Waikiki.....

Compared to other aquariums, it is a tad small.....like a previous poster said, you can probably see the whole thing in under 30 minutes, more if you take your time...if you have kids though, i believe they still have a 'hands-on' tank where you can play with starfish, sea cucumbers, etc........all in all, I think it's a good place to take a short break from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.

Small Jewel In the Pacific

The Waikiki Aquarium is an excellent deal for your money and a great place for people of all ages. The aquarium is not large, but the exhibits are excellently done, beautiful, and interesting. There is enough variety to satisfy any visitor. And you don't feel like you got taken advantage of with the outrageous prices found at some other, lesser, aquariums. An all around good experience and one of the best on the island of Oahu.

A great thing to learn about

This wil tell you about the history and the life in the sea around Honolulu. It was price real nice and they were very friendly. It is a great place to take someone to learn someting new about sea life.

Great atmostphere but lock of attraction,needs to put more attraction to make the place people to go back and check it out...because when my family and I go and check it out its not as we all expected,were all disapponted...
