I recently took the Padi open water, course over the past weekend. I had snorkeled all my life and on all of my boat dives I was always envious of the Scuba Divers that would come on the snorkeling dives that I went on. I finally decided to “just do it”, since all my life I had always wanted to. My instructor Victor B, and all the staff at Captain Bruce’s Diving staff were very helpful and professional. From the initial phone all, and gathering the proper information to assisting me in making a solid decision. Being given the best information and straightforward no add-on price to get certified was what I needed and looking for, and why I chose them. I have since passed and got my Padi Open Water Certification, and am excited to continue my scuba diving experience, and am grateful my first experience will be a memory of a lifetime. Had a great morning on the west side of Oahu with Randy piloting the boat, and our master/instructor Alan leading my dive with two others. There were 5 other divers with their master/instructor, Atushi. Went 95 ft deep to Airplane Canyon (artificial reef project) with about 100 ft visibility, and then 56 ft deep with about 60 ft visibility to Black Rock (wall). Saw turtles, octopus, puffer fish, butterfly fish, eels, and other reef life. I was picked-up at 7:00AM from my Waikiki hotel. We drove directly to the Waianae harbor about 35 miles, where the first dive site was only 5 mintues away. The rental BC/shorty/booties/fins were in good condition, and i had my own gloves/light/mask/regulator. We had drinks, sandwiches & pineapples on the boat. The Pokai Bay water was 78 degrees, and the weather was absolutely perfect. And yes, there was a hose with heated water to wash ourselves after. Thanks for a memorable fun dive!
I did see more Fish at the shore than in the Snorkeling trip by Captain Bruce in Hawaii. I have later complained about that , and they said due to Mother nature causing more waves that day we couldn't see any fish.I did not quite understand that but isn't snorkeling meant to see fish (atleast tens of them). There was no refund at all too except a sorry word. So basically the best experience we imagined would be in Hawaii turned out to be a DISASTER.
Had a mixed group with 2 juniors, 1 air guzzler. Suzette and her dive leaders did a fantastic job keeping us all comfortable and happy. The boat is nice, gear is top notch. Could not give a higher recommendation!
Captain Bruce's dive team is the BEST!! Randy, Suzette, Tony and Cameron are A++++!!! I had a great time diving with you and obtaining my Open Water Cert.. I will recommend your outfit to all my dive buddies!!
