Description

The island of Oahu is jam-packed with activities, shopping and attractions. Sometimes it becomes important to organize your time, which is precisely where Roberts of Hawaii comes in. This company is considered the premier tour company in the state of Hawaii. It facilitates every activity imaginable and is the first phone number to call if you need help planning an itinerary. Island tours, overnighters and packages are available. A favorite is Moonlight and Magic, a dinner cruise on the Ali'i Kai followed by a magic show.

Buyer Beware
By ,
Arrived at the airport 3000 miles from home. Hello, do I have a transport to get me to my hotel? NO! I call Roberts, they have me scheduled for the day before. Yesterday is gone! 2 hours later it is finally straightend out. The next morning, we are to tour Pearl Harbor. We are told to be at the shuttle pick up at 6:15 a.m. Here comes cuz, 45 minutes late with an attitude. We have a war veteran that uses a walker with us that is treated like a piece of trash from the driver. The "driver" it might help if he spoke english so an American can at least understand him. We get to Pearl Harbor and the foot race is on. Everything is hurry, hurry! Dad didnt get to see much due to this hurry up action. So we blaze through the Pearl Harbor tour. We arrive back at our drop off point at 2:30 p.m. We dropped close to 50 bucks on a lunch and had to pitch it because of the "Speed Tour" we were envolved with. Question is, what was the point of getting out of bed at 4:00 a. m. and to be ran through the tour like cattle if we are to return back at 2:30. We were also told by cuz that these busses are not equiped for the disabled person. Funny,,,,,,just across the street the same identical buss was loading a person in a wheel chair. Take a cab "OR" rent a car!

LOVED GERMAINE'S AND COUSIN AKA
By ,
My friends and I were taken to Germaine's Luau via Roberts Hawaii Tours on 3/27/12. After a short wait for a 2nd bus, we were on our way. Our tour bus host, "Cousin Aka" was fun, informative, funny, very polite and made the ride to and from the Luau entertaining and a learning experience. He shared a lot about himself and the Hawaiian culture through stories about the island on which he was born and some funny stories about his grandmother. (whom he seemed to love very much) The Luau was an excellent experience! Everyone seemed to have a good time, the dancers (men and women) were great, very colorful costumes, a couple even got engaged during our visit! I think we enjoyed the dance competition between the bus hosts the most! Some of the guys showed us some moves we may never forget! WOW! The food was good, the family atmosphere was nice, lots of friendly people. When we return next year, we will attend the Luau again and definitely request to ride with Cousin Aka! Please be sure to tell him the ladies from Dallas, TX. said "Aloha and Mahalo." Additionally, the bus was clean and comfortable and the driver took good care of us. We had a fantastic time and planning already for next year.

Way to Go Cousin Good Looking
By ,
Just returned from our second trip to Hawaii. The Circle Island Tour on Bus 636 with Cousin Good Looking was the best ever. We came back with lots of information on the Hawaiian people and their beautiful state. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to look at the beautiful beaches and country away from the city and be sure to ask for Cousin Good Looking.

Had an Awesome time
By ,
Kudo's to Cousin James, he took us on the Grand Circle Island Tour and did an awesome job, very friendly and was very explicit with everywhere we stopped. Also Roberts picked us up to and from the ariport and I'm glad it was them driving instead of us. I would highly recommend them for anything you wanted to do when you go to Hawaii.

Disappointment
By ,
Roberts Hawaii is a bad name in Kau district of the Big Island which might make their effort in all other areas suspect. As owner/operator of the Sea Mtn Golf Club which is a destination for many Mainlanders, they refuse to stock the course with more than 16 golf carts which makes starting times difficult to get. Staff here is demoralized as the payback on more carts would be realized quickly. The course has deteriorated a great deal since they assumed ownership as they continue to cut staff to 4 groundskeepers. Would this cost cutting also include other parts of the enterprise?

Unpleasant experience of shuttle service
By ,
I did not take a tour with Robert Hawaii. I booked a shuttle for my return from Wakiki hotel to Airport. So my experience may not apply to their tours. But given my bad experience with the simple shuttle service, I am glad I did not take any of their tours during my stay at Honolulu. I booked my returning shuttle at their website with my cell phone. Without access to any printer, I didn't have a paper copy for my confirmation. I was initially worried about this, so I called them and was told that it will be ok by just showing the email to the driver. This is what happened when our driver came to pick us up. I showed my email to him, he didn't say anything, he didn't ask anything, so I thought we were ok. Then after two or more pickups from other hotels, the driver suddenly walked to us and asked for a ticket. And when I said I didn't have a ticket, he said I have to pay twice for my ride to airport. I was really confused and upset at that time since I already paid online and he seems have no clue about my online reservation. Finally after long explanation, he wrote down my confirmation number and returned to his driver seat. He then contacted his operator and got confirmed that I already paid my ride. Through the whole process, he didn't explain what was going on to us at all. In short, he was very rude, unprofessional, didn't know what to do with my online reservation. I have to tell him what to do. Among the shuttle services I have taken, this is definitely the worst. My stay at Honolulu was nothing but great until the driver ruined my impression about this city. I would definitely stay away from this company, at least from their shuttle services.

Magnificant Maui
Horrible tour. We were told we would be picked up at 6:45 am and dropped back at our hotel at 3:00 pm. We did not return until 5:00 pm. We only got 15 min in the rain forest yet were left for 3 1/2 hours at a tourist trap shopping mall. Our tour guide was horrible and the bus was run down with barely-there air conditioning. Run far, far away.

Roberts Hawaii - Big Island Circle Tour
By ,
I liked our tour guide, Hank. He was funny and very informatiive. I did not like the fact that we picked up people from the airport. We were on the tour bus 2 hrs. before we ever started the tour. After they picked up people from the hotels/condos we went to the airport to pick up people that had come in from another island. Because of this our trip was rushed. We did the tour in 6 hrs. so they could get the people back to the airport to catch their flight. We did not stop for lunch, instead at 10:30 in the morning we stopped at a mall so that we could buy something to eat for lunch on the bus. We did not stop at the macadamia nut place and the coffee place we stopped at was a small store. My husband and I had taken this trip before and had a wonderful time. So this trip we recommended it to our friends and went with them. What a disappointment. Virginia Durden

Great way to see Oahu and feel welcomed in Hawaii
By ,
We did the Circle Tour of Oahu with Carl driving. It was fantastic. Carl knows so much about the history, plants, people, traditions, etc. etc. etc. of the island, it was fascinating. I felt like I was in a world class professor's classroom with some of the world's greatest scenery. Sit in the front of the bus and enjoy. Great price too! (google "oahu circle tour".)Bus was on time on all descriptions accurate or better than described.

grand circle island tour = waste of a day
By ,
The big island grand circle tour was an absolute disaster from the start. I purchased tickets for my girlfriend and I, we were staying on Oahu and had to fly to the big island to meet the tour. Problems started when we got to the airport and realized that we were not seated together on our flight to the island, and were not even on the same flight coming back. I went to the airline and they informed me that I could switch flights however it would cost me an additional 50 dollars, as it was their mistake I informed each Robert’s individual I came in contact with throughout the day, and each assured me that they would take care of it. Though one person only replied “well what do you want me to do about it.” By the time we returned to the airport at the end of the day the bus driver informed us that they had not fixed anything, and then used it as an opportunity to make a joke over the bus loudspeaker about the “two young sweethearts who were split up.” At this point I had 20 minutes to make my flight and the airline would not switch my flight. I wish this were the only part of the day that didn’t live up to expectations, however the tour itself was also a giant disappointment. We spent about 10 hours on the tour that day and I think about 1.5 of them we were not stuck on the bus. We made the stops on the brochure, the volcano, waterfall, black sand beach, coffee shop, chocolate store and lunch, however our time allotted at each spot was ridiculous. We were given a half hour to shop at the coffee store and chocolate shop, and then 7 minutes at the black sand beach, and like 10 at the waterfall. We drove around the island and the tour guide’s anecdotes and jokes kept our attention for maybe the first 20 minutes, then it started to seem like the microphone just happened to be on while he muttered things to himself. This tour was a total ripoff, buy your own plane tickets and rent a car, or just rent a car and hit up the sites listed on the brochure that interest you on your own and you will save a lot of money and have a much better time. But the icing on the cake was the plane ticket debacle, they messed up and did nothing to fix it and were thoroughly disrespectful to us about it.
