Pearl Harbor, Honolulu

I've been to Pearl before, only the memorial though, this time I did the whole thing, movie and the USS submarine and the museum, that was incredible. We spent hours in the museum just reading and learning. very interesting place. If you go to Pearl Harbor, don't dress in shorts and t-shirts. This is a memorial just like the cemetery. So be respectful as you would at others.

my father was at the bombing 65 years ago and i just found it chilling. i am a talker, but couldnt speak at the ceremony or any of the exhibits

On a whole, I expected Hawaii to be cleaner and nicer. If you go anywhere near the military bases on Oahu, you'll notice how filthy and poverty stricken it really is. Pearl Harbor is nice for the history buffs.

We loved the entire area of Pearl Harbor. I felt the most patriotic of my entire life. It is so sureal. No one should miss this!

This is one of those place you hear about, but don't truly understand until you're there. If you're going to Hawaii this is a place you have to put down as a must see.

A must visit... but go early. Get there for 8am or earlier. We got the audio tour which was worth the extra money.

Simply the most memorable and touching WWII place I have seen; The harbor itself is beautiful and offers spectacular views of all memorials/museums: USS Arizona USS Missouri Bowfin submarine Pacific Aviation Museum I went to all of them, and you really feel the gigantic sacrifice these men made in order to restore peace in the Pacific. Finally, if you are not that wealthy, you can very well go to the Arizona memorial alone, it is free of charge... but believe me you'll want to save to go to the others too!

We loved going out to Pearl Harbor. It gave us chills. We could have stayed out there for a very very long time. Knowing that there are fellow Americans entombed there gave us the most respect and thanks to all who have served our great Country and those willing to give their lives for all of us so we can be a free Nation under God. The only thing that upset us was the fact that there were some Japanese people laughing and irreverent to the fact of what actually they were standing above. They should be kept separate from fellow Americans if they cannot act in a proper manner and not disturbing to others around them. Beautiful to see and you cannot leave there without a new look about life and honor and respect for all. All Americans should have the opportunity to go out there. The Miller Family

Respect for fallen soldiers and preserving of their interment was heartwarming. Beat time to visit, when most schools are in session and not the summer. It was a solemn and very moving experience. I was quite surprised to see that oil droplets are still surfacing from "The Arizona"

your heart breaks. if you stand silent you can feel the sorrow felt there in all the men who died. spend time and read the wall of names you never know if someone from someone you know has a son grandfather brother etc... who is still buried on that ship.
