Dole Plantation, Wahiawa

We did the Pineapple Express, which is the train ride through the pineapple fields. It really isn't that fantastic, you can see pretty much the same looking field by just driving to the north shore but I guess if you listen to the narration you do learn a bit about the process. You also see various plants/crops. The best part (which is free) I think is the gift shop. If you just stop by to check that out you are good. They have all kinds of neat things and of course most of it is pineapple related. I haven't eaten at the cafe but I heard the pineapple whips are the bomb. For free you can also look in the little garden of a variety of pineapples and get some pictures of the pineapples growing.

My friends and their families loved the Dole Plantation. The Pinapple Garden Maze was great. To have even more fun, don't use the map. The train ride was interesting, but could be a bit boring for teen-agers. Gift shop prices were normal for a tourist attraction. Prices for each activity were very reasonable.

Take this trip after Pearl Harbor. It's worth the short ride from there. Best Pineapple you'll taste. Took the train ride which was nice and great for kids too. Try the Pineapple ice cream cone.
