Paradise lost?

I am a shopper at heart. Los Angeles offers such diverse enviroments since the city is a meshing of various cultures. We have are faux pas as well, Hollywood and Highland, The Georges Pompidou Centre inspired Beverly Center and the 70's left over the Glendale Galleria. But that is expected in a large city that is vast and geographically different from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. It is rather unfortunate that this shopping center hides the Pink Palace" and it's charming island vision. This mall seems like it was plucked right out off some suburb in Los Angeles and transplanted to Waikiki to remind us that although we are in paradise, it too can get ugly. Inside the shopping center are stores that appear desolate since it is rarther dark, eventhough it is an open air mall. I am surprised that this building doesn't offend much, but I guess it will be around forever or until someone finally decides to remodel it to fit the scene of Waikiki. Regardless, name brand shoppers will still flock because while on vacation there is always money to burn at Salvatore Ferragamo.
