Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/10
I just love this mall. I am an American but have lived in Australia for the past 22 years. I have been visiting Honolulu since 1973 and I've been around the world a few times and the Ala Moana Mall is the best. It has everything one could think of buying, eating or drinking. It caters to everyone's budget and taste. There is always a sale on and the quality, quantity and variety of choice is outstanding. I love Hawaii as I believe it is heaven here on earth and Macys and it's staff are the place to go and be seen. There is one particular woman in the bed linen department at the Ala Moana Macys store that I would like to acknowledge for her excellence in service, warmth, kindness and professionalism. Her name is Carly Tsutsui. She is a great ambassador for your company. She should train the others on how to deliver great customer service. Don't overlook her....she delivers! I was just there last week (April 11th/10) with my husband and another couple from Australia and we got lucky with the sale on all bedding items. Here in Australia you would pay over $250 for a set of good quality king size sheets and we got them on sale at Macys for $70USD. We bought as much as we could that would fit into our suit cases. We wish we could have bought home pillows, bedspreads, towels, etc. Maybe Macys will consider opening up a Macys here on the north shore of Sydney Australia. I would love to help in any way to make this possible. My son and his bride will be honeymooning in Hawaii in July/10 and you can be sure that they will be heading to the Ala Moana Mall and Macys. We are loyal customers and I'm already planning my next visit. Kind regards Ellie from Sydney Australia.

Great place to visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/8/08
I liked the large variety of different stores , but the one thing I did miss was the Liberty House store and the Woolworths department store which both have now been replaced , Ala Moana is a great place to visit on Sundays as many stores offer free food and drink samples , coffee and Hawaiian candy . And I really enoyed the musical groups that do entertain there near the book store .

best mall i have ever been
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/06
There is nothing that i dont like about this shopping center. In fact is the best one I have ever been to. My husband is in the Military and we were Station twice in Kaneohe Bay. We move in so many places but I have never been to a mall this size. And of course I miss the food court. They were something for everyone at any age. I wish to return to Hawaii someday. And Ala Moana Mall is definitely a must to go to.

Needs much ALOHA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/06
The store that I was not to happy with was Macy's. The salespeople have no "aloha" spirit at all!! I needed to ask a question and the man behind the counter didn't even look at or say hello at all! He answered my question and just continued to do his business. I prefer shopping at Macy's Pearlridge because of the "aloha" spirit that they ALL have. Macy's AlaMoana should learn from them!

absolute new shopping experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/9/05
I enjoyed shopping at Ala Moana, the stores are are all so close together and many, many designer stores. However most of the people working there in the smaller known stores seemed mildly rude. Is this due to the fact that my wife and I are white? Overall, I still enjoyed the experience most of the stores sold items at reasonable prices but they are just as expensive as home.

Great food court!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/05
This mall has something for everyone, from very cheap to very expensive. Everyone at the mall was very friendly and cheerful. In fact, I did not have any unpleasant experiences during the entire week in Waikiki. My family of four ended up eating in the food court 4 out of 7 days for dinner. The food is the best, and the cheapest, unlike our over-priced Waikiki hotel.

Thank Goodness for Credit Cards!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/05
My first time in Honolulu and I was there on business. Took my teenage daughter with me. We lived at the Ala Moana Mall in the evenings and she lived there during the day when she wasn't at the hotel pool or at the beach. Not only is it convenient to the Ala Moana Hotel, but the mall had the best of the best in shopping, dining and just atmosphere! Enjoyable and just right next to the beach and park! I'll definitely go back again.
