North Shore Swimwear

In January while in Oahu I visited this store and bought one suit and a separate top to go with a pair of black briefs I had at home. I fell in love with the suit because you can buy different size tops and bottoms -- as I am quite large in the bust that is a necessity. Nevertheless, when I got home I ordered two more suits. When I received them the bottoms were cut entirely different from the pair I had gotten while in Oahu -- the new ones were more of a bikini rather than the higher cut sides I had purchsed earlier. I spoke with customer service and they informed me that I must have gotten a "special" bottom with the suit I purchased. I completely disagreed with that theory since the girl I purchased the original suit from wrote down the number of the bottom and tops I purchased so I would know what I got if I decided to order more. I was informed I would have to return the bottoms and they would remake them for me to my specifications (I measured the bottoms I had originally bought and found the side seam to be 4 3/4 inches -- the new ones had a side seam of 3 1/2 inches) -- all for an extra charge of $8.00 each plus more shipping charges. I was not happy about that but I felt I had no choice since I am in my 60's and bikini's are not for me at this late stage of my life!!! I like wearing two piece suits but the bottoms need to have more coverage than some of their "bikinis". I was disappointed in their handling of this situation -- especially in light of the fact their suits are very expensive.

I have been buying my custom suits from North Shore Swimwear since 1998. They have been with me through many different body shapes :) and have fit them all. I LOVE this place! I haven't lived on Oahu since 2000, but the customer service is just as fantastic over the phone. They even helped me order a suit when I was in Iraq (and shipped it to me!). I will never buy a suit anywhere else.

My husband bought a 2 piece swim suit for me for Christmas and spent over $100. About 6 months later, the fabric had completely stretched out - both bottom and top, because the entire suit is not lined. My butt was showing through the back! When I took the suit back, looking for a partial refund or a replacement (considering the "great" customer service they claim), I instead got a lecture on how to take care of my suit. The manager did not listen when I explained how I rinse the suit after every wear, etc. I will never buy another suit from this place again, and do not recommend it to others. They do not stand behind their product.

The very personal customer service far exceeds anything I have ever experienced! I am so thrilled with the quality of my suits and the attention to detail I have recommeded this company to all my friends. If you want a great suit that fits your body, these are the people to see.

Trying on swimsuits can be horrible experience, but the next time I need one, I know exactly where to go. The personal attention and top-notch customer service make North Shore Swimwear exceptional. The young woman who helped me was fabulous & the selection amazing. I hope the owners take good care of their sales staff. They deserve it!
