the pen writes mightier than the pc
By ,
I have been buying my pens: vintage, limited edition, contemporary, everyday pens for work or gifts at EARL's for 14 years and he has repaired my problems expertly and reasonably throughout those years. As a professional traveller i can tell you that i have yet to find anyone as knowledgeable and as patient as he. I now live in Paris and am most anxious to find someone who can take care of my fine writing instruments until i am able to return to Honolulu to see him. I can recommend EARL's Honolulu Pen Shop unequivocably to anyone who has a passion for fine writing instruments, they be antique, vintage, limited edition or everyday pleasureable pens. M. Simon

Great selection
By ,
Was looking for lower end fountain pens. A great variety of makes and types, and prices were reasonable. Lady owner was very nice and patient. Entrance is through elevator down the car ramp. Recommend calling for hours. Probably only store like it in the isles.

A guy who knows pens
By ,
The owner is one who truly loves what he sells. He makes you feel like becoming a pen collector. He knows everything about pens. It's a small but very clean and comfortable store. You can test out and get the feel of the pens you're interested in buying. He carries almost all the quality names in pens and also has the reasonable priced pens too.

Great Pen Shop!
By ,
The Honolulu Pen Shop is one of a kind. Great assortment of fine writting instruments with very knowledgable owner on site. Prices are better than average and the selection is the best I've seen in years. I visit the islands a few times a year and make it a point to stop by and pick up hard to find items.

Just so that you know
By ,
Earl sold me my first pen when I was a pediatric resident more than ten years ago. He was very pleasant, and pretty much THE purveyor of fine pens for the entire state, which meant that staying in his shop for more than 10 minutes was a sure bet that a mutual acquiantance would come walking into the door. So I was quite saddened to find out that he passed away about 6 months ago. I'm sure that I speak for a long of people ("Nice pen ! Where'd ya get ? Earl ? Of course !") when I say that Hawaii has lost a good friend.
