Ocean Club, Honolulu

Talk about a pretentious crowd! If you aren't VIP prepare to be standing in the general entry line all night. If Asians are your thing it's a good place to go. If you like people that are free, love to dance, smile a lot, don't stand around in cliques, this is not the place to go. Personally I'd rather be in my bed then anywhere near that place.

Overall As a visitor to Honolulu for 5 weeks, I have had a chance to check out most of the club scene in Waiki, so if you are a visitor you may find this helpful. Out of all the places that I visited, before I got drunk, the ladies here were the best looking. Which, guys, as you know results in a sausage frenzy. So be prepared to bring some game to make your way through the sword fighting in order to land your lady of choice. Music The music was a bit top fourty so if you are looking for a good hip hop vibe then this is not the place. I guarantee that you will like a few of the songs played but most will not make the cut. However, if you are after a good time and are willing to dance to a mix of songs then come on down. Value The drinks are priced well (Grey Goose and tonic $6.50) a great price when compared to cities like NY, DC or LA. Although and this is weird, they do not serve doubles or more than one drink at a time. But if you are committed you can still get completely waisted. :) Check it out, hope this helped.

The only ppl complaining about Ocean's is the ppl that never got in. How can you judge a place by standing in line? Maybe get there little early like between 10-11pm where the line isn;t so bad. Once you get in...There's beautiful asian girls everywhere you look. definately a nice crowd with nice ratios. Not like 10 guys to 1 girl. No matter who says what,,,Ocean't been my favorite spot on Thursday since they opened...MOST DEFINATELY WORTH CHECKING OUT..

Just came back from that place- piranha room. waited in the "non VIP" line for about 30 min. although it was already 1am. the line didn't move at all, whereas VIPs constantly got in w/o waiting. $10 cover. the entire crowd was local and asian, and not very friendly. same goes for the staff. the music was definitely the worst. cheap 90s techno- just awfull. in summary, I've wasted a couple of hours of my time and 10 bucks.

I have been to many clubs throughout my life, and consider this the worst club in my life!! i am not exaggerating. They had no respect for the general public. They would constantly ONLY let the vip and guest list people in, and wouldnt even look at the line of the people from the general public. i was waiting close to 2 hours!! i dont mind waiting, but the line wasn't even moving, it wasnt worth it. i went up to the employee to ask what was going on, they said they are only letting the vip in. i told them i will never come back, and they said ..."ok then". they are not in the business of pleasing customers, DONT EVER GO THERE!!

Oceans is THE place to go to! Freindly staff and crowd, mostly local, which I prefer. Tuesdays drinks are $2 and appetizers are 1/2 price, and the 23 and over restriction brings in an after-work crowd. Thursdays they lower the age limit to 21, but the crowd is still classy, and you get in free if you're wearing Aloha attire. Haven't checked out "Pau Hana" Fridays yet, but I will when I visit again this May. Get there early to avoid the long lineups.

Want to take a date to a nice club with a cool respectful crowd? Then this is the place for you. You can even order food and everything is 1/2 off before 8pm (no cover charge)... then enjoy the dancing when the crowd starts flowing in around 10pm. Nice atmosphere, great staff, and the music is pretty good.
