Cheeseburger in Paradise
Named after a Jimmy Buffet tune, this casual pub-style place serves up the American staple with gusto. Its motto is "Cheeseburgers, Mai Tais and Rock and Roll", and that's just what you get. The burgers are real, the Mai Tais are generous, and the canned rock is always playing (sometimes a little too loudly, but the young staff and clientele don't seem to mind). From 4p till 11p, the entertainment is live. There is a second location on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui.
Ok burger, if you like a hamburger with no dressing on it.
Bad bun..as in dry..as in stale.
Slow service. I mean slow on a Tuesday afternoon with about 20 other customers in the place.
Bad service. As in the waiter never came back to see how the food was.
Lucky waiter. As in I should have stiffed him but I gave him a 10% tip just because I was once a waiter myself.
Dope at the register. As in she asked, "How was it?" I said, "Good burger. Bad bun. It was dry." She said, "Oh. They usually put butter or something on them." I said, "The buns were dry and stale." She said, "Oh" again.
No customer service. No good. Go somewhere else. Really!
If you love Pina Colada's as I do, you absolutely must go to Cheeseburger in Paradise for their House Colada. I have tried them in every restaurant and they by far are the best! It is thick and creamy and so filling that I can not eat a whole meal which is ok b/c the food is so so, appetizers are good though. So my friends and I go to listen to the music and bands and drink colada's. Try it you won't be dissapointed on the Colada. I wish I had the drink recipe for it!
1. Food was not very good.
2. They ran out of beer on tap.
3. Not that I care, but the place's relationship to Jimmy Buffet is tenuous to nonexistent. Look through the gift shop and read the story on the back of the menu carefully - neither Buffet nor his song are mentioned. This leads me to believe that this establishment has no ties to Buffet but is simply licensing from Buffet the right to use the name "Cheeseburger in Paradise".
The wait wasnt that long considering we had group of 6 and 1 baby on a sunday afternoon, and it was definitely packed inside. The atmosphere was laid back and enjoyable which is what we really liked, Our waiter was friendly and polite. I loved the burgers!! I had the Cheese bacon burger...all I can say is Yummy! We also ordered cheese fries and they were so delicious, I was stuffed afterwards. we had virgin Lava flows, that were great as well. It was definitely worth the money considering how huuge the burgers were (we dont get burgers that big at home) and that its Hawaii where everytings expensive anyway. I loved it! and recommend it to families and anyone looking for a laid back friendly atmosphere.I cant wait to go back!!
We decided to try it out recently, and after a short wait we were seated. Our waiter was fantastic, we had a couple of questions and he was well informed and quick to make recommendations. And the food was great, we had a cheeseburger, chicken salad, and a couple of other meals and everyone was impressed, and the bill was very reasonable, especially for the location.
We will definitely be back...
Wow!! what a place My family went there on our vacation in Honlulu and it was a blast from the guys who wear the grass shrits with straw hats I can't wait to go again. The service was excellent, and the cheeseburger's were sooo big you have some to take out with you.
The only thing I didn't like was that the birds flew in and landed on the tables but the place was very clean and friendly. If you get the chance to go bring your $$ it's kind of expensve but well woth it
The waiters and waitresses were unfriendly, incompetent and intrmidating. Ater having your food 'thrown' at you, you had to sit there and wait for a check....forget about filling sodas....we got one round when we sat down....then never asked again....it was not good and I would never go back. Mangagers better have some training sessions on just how to be nice and friendly....
Best Cheeseburger in Honolulu. Location is great near our hotel. Will be back again in May of 07. One of the best places to visit while in Hawaii. Location across from the beach and just a short walk from all hotels. Service is excellent. Food is even better!
I cannot wait to get another Pina Colada. The best I ever had
