Old Town Trolley Tours, Savannah

I love the town and the tour was a good way to see Savannah in a short amount of time. I wish you didn't have to wait so long in the stop, but besides that it was very nice.

There is a man that works there his shirt said Tim he helped us with directions and he was very complementary of his company. He was professional and courteous as we stopped him while he was pushing a big cart. He took the time to let us know where to go and who to see about tickets and he was very pleasant to speak with .He is an employee any company would be proud to have represent them.

I am a local and have taken many family & friends on The Old Town Trolley Tours many times. The last time I did (just a few days ago) I bought tickets online for convience and to save $2.50 per adult ticket. BIG MISTAKE! Once I got there with my online tickets, the saleswoman at the station was upset that my tickets were purchased online instead of through her. My guess is that she did not get her cut from these tickets (which was probably my online discount) She then refused to give me the parking pass to park in the station lot (which is included free w/ ticket purchase! The lot is HUGE and always has plenty of free parking for trolley riders - however is you buy tickets online you are denied access to the parking lot and must fend for yourself! Certainly not worth the hassel or $2.50 discount. The woman was very rude, unprofessional, and even stopped a fellow employee from trying to allow me access into the lot. She argued in front of other customers.....some left rolling their eyes at this womans behavior. Meanwhile my family is sitting in the car for 45 min. while I was being told I should not have prchased tickets online.My suggestion......Stay away from the green and orange trolleys! Ride the WHITE trolley line instead - they are color coded for easy recognition. You will save $10.00 per ticket at the ticket booths and you will also receive FREE parking in the stations lot! I have reported this to customer service who offers 100% money back gaurentee - and I have heard NOTHING in return! AVOID OLD TOWN TROLLEY TOURS! I will continue to let other know of this highly unpleasent experience.

If time is crtical, one of the trolley tours and River Street will get you back for another visit. The tour is an EXCELLENT orientation to the city and will help you decide what you want to see more closely on a walking expedition. We took the Old Towne and were very satisfied. Recommend passing on the on/off option (too long a wait for next trolley and crowding can be a problem). Instead, there is a free tourist transit service run by Chatham County transit that has a good schedule and makes its way through all the neighborhoods of tourist interest. The tour is an EXCELLENT orientation to the city and will help you decide what you want to see more closely on a walking expedition. Also, it's difficult to do any picture taking on a trolley that's moving, often crowded and you're often on the wrong side to get the picture you want. Hence the tour's usefulness as an orientation prior to a walking expedition with time to admire Savannah's charm.

We tried Ogelthorpe instead. Olgethorpe gave a very descriptive history of the city while touring through. When the tour was over, You could call for a ride to get back to any point within the city. ( A Beatup shuttle van husked you through the alleyways to get you back to your spot). It would have been nice to get back on the trolley, not a beat up shuttle bus.

Unorganized. Spent more time waiting for the bus than touring the city . Not sure of the other companies. But this one was a total waste.

I would not recommend it. It is now $25.00 and once you get off it is impossible to get back on. We went on a weekday out of season and still had to walk back. The people are real freindly and informative while we were on it. If U must go buy the one time on/off and take the whole tour and what ever you do DONT GET OFF.

Seriously, just go with Oglethorpe. Same tour, $15, AND they run later.

It is a great value to be able to park your car and have them do the driving. You have to pay to park everywhere in Savannah before 5:00pm. You can get on and off all day (trolley runs until 4:30). Great tour guides tell you the most wonderful stories that are Savannah's history. Things you would never know without the tour. I loved the fans they let us use to cool off with too. Very nice touch.

My husband and I took our first trip to Savannah and read all the testimonals about the Old Trolley Tour it was AWESOME. The on/off tour allowed you to view the area at your own pace. DENISE was an awesome conductor. I woud recommend that if you decide to do this tour Denise is the conductor you want.
