Thomas Kinkade City Market Gallery
Known as the painter of light, Thomas Kinkade is beloved the world over for his evocative work, which takes center stage at this charming City Market gallery. Choose from hundreds of authentic Kinkade prints, both framed and unframed, including the region's most comprehensive collection of his notable lighthouse studies. Nature scenes, cityscapes and ocean themes are among the favorite subjects of this talented artist. In a neighborhood known for its addiction to art, you'll always find a healthy fix here.
I was so impressed with the atmosphere and the way the employees let us walk around and admire the art without standing right over our shoulders. They were very helpful when we did have a question. I am so glad we decided to go into the gallery; it was a wonderful experience and I would like to visit again.
The Thomas Kinkade Gallery at the City Market in Savannah was not a place we planned to visit during our stay in Savannah. We just happened across it while walking around the Historic District. We ended up in the City Market area after finding it impossible to eat at Lady & Sons (3 hr. wait to get a table). The Kinkade Gallery was wonderful. Kinkade's works are arranged beautifully on the walls and in small viewing rooms. The dimmer switches allow visitors to dim the lights and see the lights from the paintings jump out at you. The staff was well informed and helpful but stayed out of our way while we viewed the works. Great addition to a walking tour of Savannah!
We felt comfortable and were pleased with the amount of attention and information we received from the people who worked there. We were very interested in one of the pictures and after coming home and thinking about it, we called and ordered the picture. We're anxiously awaiting it's arrival sometime in Feb.
My husband and I were very impressed with the displays of the artwork and other collector's items. The staff members were very helpful and friendly. We certainly plan to continue purchasing artwork from this gallery.
Kinkade is a master of one thing that is for sure, marketing. All his galleries are the same across the US so if you've seen one, you've seen them all. Try visiting the galleries with the local artists you'll find unique pieces you won't be able to see anywhere else.
