Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad

Description

This outfit offers romantic train journeys that run 26 miles (42 kilometers) through historic Murphy Junction along the Toccoa River in the North Georgia mountains. Each trip lasts about three hours, beginning and ending at the depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Trips include a stop in McCaysville where passengers disembark to explore the quaint community, and another in Copperhill, Tennessee. The railroad was constructed between 1877 and 1886, and has been carefully restored.

what a wonderful way to spend the day
By ,
we loved the train ride. it is a wonderful step back in time. we were on the open air cars and loved it. that way you get to see the river and enjoy the scenery. my husband loved standing with one foot in georgia and the other in tennesssee.the train stops long enough for you to checkout the small town and grab some lunch. our grandkids had a great time on the train. the people who work on the train are very friendly, they dont mind answering questions along the way for you. when you visit blueridge you should definetly take the time to go on the train.

Fun for young and old...
By ,
We have been on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad several times in the past couple of years. Our whole family (teenagers included) LOVE this train ride. The town of Blue Ridge is a small, quiet town with extremely friendly people. They also have a drive-in, The Swan, with 1st run movies. The volunteers on the train are all helpful and friendly and the ride itself is beautiful, no matter what time of year you go. I would heartily recommend everyone to experience this trip at least once.

Great way to see the great Blue Ridge Scenery
By ,
Loved the old fashioned train ride! It was a great way to catch the beautiful mountain and Ocohee River sights. Make sure you reserve an outdoor car so you can see the view. The towns we stopped at were typical small America town. Don't expect much in sight seeing, but the people there are very friendly and it was cool to be able to stand in both GA and TN. I would highly recommend as part of your Blue Ridge Mountain expierence

Great train trip in the mountains
By ,
We took advantage of the Rest and Rail package offered through Tica Cabin Rentals. We visited over the Labor Day weekend. The train trip was wonderful and the people that worked on the train were very friendly. We got a discount on the train tickets through the package we purchased from Tica which included a beautiful log cabin to stay in. They were very nice and friendly also and told us of other fun things to do in the area. All in all the trip was great and we will be back and will ride the train again!

Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad
By ,
We had a great time. Blue Ridge seems like a quite small town, but it wasn't a pain to get to. Found a delicious little hotdog stand in McCaysville to eat at. The train ride was wonderful and the scenes were beautiful, even our little one was oohing and ahhing. We plan to go back in the fall, so we highly recommend it. Sherry and family
