Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff that can point you in the right direction to becoming a true art collector. Fine art prints are affordable and larger one-of-a-kind pieces by Ruth Franklin and Laura Spong are absolutely stunning and won’t cost you tens of thousands of dollars like in some other galleries, but they may be worth that in a few years! I highly recommend this hidden gem in Decatur and I keep coming back myself. The show openings are full of truly inspired people (no posers here!) who like good art and want to support the Atlanta Art scene. Chris Pig and other up and coming artists are not to be missed!

Strolling through quaint Decatur, just minutes from the Atlanta skyline, one finds a world class art gallery in an unlikely setting. Once inside this cozy space, tucked between a salon and a folk-art shop, you find a truly impressive mix of paintings, prints and photographs by international artists. Ruth Franklin's bold paintings stand out and the hand-made prints by Chris Pig are exceptional.

Vinson Gallery in Decatur is the place to go for great art in Atlanta. It has been around for a while and is the primary reason the art scene is really starting to boom in the ATL. The owner, Shawn, was a driving force in bringing the world renowned Art Expo to Atlanta for the first time last year. Great paintings, great selection, great prices. His show openings are always fun and the new art always lives up to the billing.

I like how the location is situated in between several bars and restaurants, so it makes a great place to take your wife or girlfriend before or after dinner. I've been to a couple of his openings, and the art is excellent and he always has good wine and food. I've purchased four pieces from him, and I can't wait for his upcoming show on September 15.
