Wonderful piece of history!
Nestled and hidden from the rest of the city around it, we took a tour of the Goodwin House with Lynda Martin whose family has been part of this home for 7 generations. This is the last parcel of a 600-acre farm in Dekalb County, Georgia and now shelters several growing businesses and offers a calming retreat to Goodwin Growth Works and a couple of other small business.
The house has endured as the countryside around it grew into the bustling Brookhaven district. The fireplace was by far our favorite part, with a large chunk missing and a good story in its place. This was really a wonderful tour by someone who not only is a descendant of the original inhabitants, but seems to truly love it.
