About an hour north of downtown Atlanta, this monastery offers riding trails that wind through acres of picturesque mountain scenery inhabited by abundant wildlife, lush foliage and natural springs. The Swan Center focuses on teaching guests how to handle themselves with a horse, and emphasizes developing a special relationship between rider and animal. This comprehensive training farm operates horse camps for children in spring, summer and fall. A one-hour guided lesson costs a reasonable amount. Contact the main number for directions and details.

My 11 yr old Twin girls will not stop asking to go back!!
By wendy, 09/16/07
I took my children there on a field trip and my 11 yr olds LOVED it. They got a chance to really interact with the animals and everyone there was very helpful and nice. It really is a beautiful setting and they have a lovely out door covered riding arena. Since we went my girls have been begging to go back. We are going to try to participate in their 'saddle club' this year. It is on Saturdays, the children get a chance to find out what it takes to take care of animals. I really think it will be a great learning experience for them. We are all excited. Wendy North Georgia
