Macy's - Lenox Square Mall
One of the old reliable anchors of Buckhead's Lenox Square Mall , Macy's department store brings one of New York's most venerable traditions to the heart of Dixie. In addition to men's, women's and children's fashions, this massive store also features housewares, linens, sporting goods, jewelry, a beauty shop, bridal registry and one of the city's most comprehensive cosmetics departments. For quick bites, check out the deli and bakery on the store's bottom level.
The management is rude and disrespectful. @ kids (Koby and Whitney) were actually insulting when I needed assistance. After being a regular customer for years in that store I will never shop in that store again.
I've tried calling to order a coat I liked in a smaller size than what they had available. I was on the phone for a half hour before I even talked to anyone. I was transferred around endlessly to a whole lot of people who could never quite help me with what I needed. In fact, an hour later, I AM STILL WAITING to receive a call back with someone who can help me. I might go spend this 400 dollars elsewhere. All because a bunch of morons at Macy's couldn't get me to the correct person.
Alterations were done on the sleeves of my mink and it took three attempts for them to get it right. By the time I got mink coat back a couple of months had passed and the holiday season was over. I talked to the Manager about it and he only offered me another bag to hang the mink in (which was an insult). I asked to talk to his boss and he said he could not give me a number, but he picked up his cell phone and pretended to give him a call and said his boss was not in. It is now May and I am still waiting to hear back from the boss. I called Macy's customer service to complain but I was told that the Fur Valt was an independent contractor. (Yet they are giving a bad reputation to Macy's)
The store put my check through to my bank electronically, and did not give my check back. They then tried to send the paper check through to get more money. My bank refused (they had already paid the money out). When I tried to speak with a store manager, I was put on hold several times and my bank was blamed. Total ignorance, and mayhem. Macy's refused to take responsibility for their actions.
I called at around noon today (11/15/08) and asked a male clerk if they had any Seiko Sportura watches in stock, and which models they had. I made it clear that I was looking for Seiko Sportura, not any other type of Seiko. He said they had "10 or 11" of them in stock and would not give me specific model numbers because that would be too much work. Instead he told me to come to the Macy's at Lenox Square Mall to check them out in person. I drove out there, through all the traffic jams that I wanted to avoid by calling first to make sure they had what I wanted, and when I got there they only had TWO types of Seiko Sportura in stock, neither of which was the type I was looking for. So, basically his laziness in not helping me over the phone cost me a couple hours of my afternoon that were spent driving to the store to see what he could have just told me over the phone.
I just tried to call and get the cookware department and had to listen to several minutes of choosing the department but cookware was not listed. I finally got a "real" person that transferred me and I quickly received the information that I needed from the nice gentleman. It just to be so nice when someone would answer the phone and they could transfer you immediately.
There is a black lady that works in men's accessories that by far the rudest employee I have ever encountered. She was so rude to me, and then turned it around and made it look as if I were rude to her. She even called security on me (this was her way of making it look like she didn't do anything). I still shop at Macy's, but I get my socks and accessories rung up by someone else. I was sick over the entire experience for a long time.
I went there searching for Beyonce's clothing line b/c it's not available in Kansas. It was easy to find, the help was wonderful, and I even got to see Trey Songs while I was there (on my birthday) It was a good experience.
