This tiny storefront has a couple of tables out front for the bread-lover who cares to linger, but pick-up is the main game. The long lines on Saturday mornings make it known that The Breadgarden has been playing for a while. It serves up pastries, sandwiches and bread; bread for folks who know the meaning of a real bakery. Using only unbleached and unbromated flours in their dough, the careful artisans at The Breadgarden dish up the best loaves in town. Just ask Atlanta magazine, which awarded The Breadgarden the honor of "Best Bread in Atlanta."
The baguettes are better suited a fence posts than food. Hard rubbery crust and dry musty interior. Mea culpa for not inspecting carefully while there but I will not be back.
Staff seemed hung over and totally disinterested but I can live with that for 'good' bread.
