This warm brewery sits at the southeast corner of Piedmont Park, Atlanta's busiest public green. It is a favorite among dog lovers, and hitches are available along the patio to leash your pet while you dine. The decidedly tavern-like interior is dark and friendly, with a fireplace. Two bars offer limited seating, but the main attraction is the patio, which overlooks the Midtown skyline. Pastas, fish and a wide range of appetizers highlight the menu. The Tavern also brews its own line of beer, which ranges from light amber ales to full-bodied stouts (draft beer for USD1).
Great atmosphere on the patio.Super way to laz away an afternoon.Very laid back with lots of dogs and a great view of the park and city skyline.Good home brewed draft beer and the bar food and service are first rate.Just fun to kick back and people and dog watch while sipping a few cold ones.
The view of the midtown skyline is great. Which brings me to the point that this is pretty much the only selling point of the Park Tavern.
This place is managed by substandard management that tends to just hand out with the girlie waitresses.
Food is basically flavorless microwave cuisine. Its all frozen and just warmed up.
The beer is surprisisingly substandard and some of the flattest unskilled "homebrews" I have ever tried.
Filling out a ton of comment cards for a while, you'd hope to get a phone call or maybe some changes to the better out of it - Nope. This restaurant seems strictly focused on catering in its large rooms upstairs, but certainly not on the customer.
You will also never see the owner. I think he is rightfully preparing for an alternative carrer as this restaurant is bound to dissapear. McDonalds does a better job running a restuarant. What a rookie.
Go to 5 Seasons's for beer instead..and be greeted with a warm and welcoming staff by name!
Avoid this place like the plague. Here's what you need to know: If it wasn't for it's location in Piedmont Park, this place would be out of business.
The food is average, their draft beer is horrid, and their service rude. Good luck complaining to management; they act like they are doing the city a favor by operating a bar near the park.
