Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium

Description

Best known as the home of the New Year's Day Citrus Bowl of college football, the stadium is one of the oldest facilities in the Orlando Centroplex complex. Renovated in the 90s to the tune of close to $40 million, the facility offers seating for 70,000, including 30 luxury boxes, and state-of-the-art amenities and equipment that make it a prime location for sporting events and huge rock super-shows.

never ever go here
By ,
Just returned from wrestlmania 24 and will never go near this place again even if they paid me. To call this place a dump is an insult to dumps. First of all there is no parking or actual parking lots(there were 74,000 people at this show and no parking?) we paid for parking in what was called lot A from the Orlando venues site. This wasn't even a parking lot it was more like an obstacle course with fences trees and wineos. It was also over sold poorly lit and poorly managed. We were directed to a spot that I could not fit into and damaged my car. They also close the streets around the stadium and there are no signs for the lots. When we got inside the event staff was clueless rude and unhelpfull. Inside the stadium itself is like a third rate country fair with long boths of uncovered food with dirty people manning the food and beer stands. There are few signs showing were your section is the place looks like a building that is being prepared for demolition. Bathrooms were dirty and unsanitary. Security was lacking the guy in our section spent more time watching the big screen than doing his job. Only one event staffer was helpfull and got us to our seats and when he asked another staffer to help him she was eating food and said no.This place is a disaster waiting to happen. All the other negative reviews here are 100% true. This place needs to be torn down. Never ever pay to go here go to Disney instead they know how to treat people.

I buy tickets drive over there to be told that there is no more parking available. How can you have events and sell tickets without having enough parking?

STADIUM CONDITIONS
By ,
I just returned from the Walt Disney World Florida Classic 11-18-2006. The area of the stadium is not the best, most businesses on the main drag leading into the area from I-4 are abandoned. As you get closer to the stadium near the other highway (408 I think)the area is thriving. There are homeless looking people holding up signs for you to park, but there are also official looking people offering you parking. The stadium is very out dated. The concrete and metal steps leading to some sections are broken and cracked, they should have ramps to all sections. I reserved a end of the aisle seat (section 113, seat 1-3) and even called the stadium to verify the seating. It was at the end of the aisle next to a concrete dirty wall and rusty metal banishers! I had to view the game pearing through the banisters. Also they have bleacher style seating so depending on the size of people's butts you may have enough room to sit down and you may not! Arrive early and don't get out your seat!

Not impressed!!!
By ,
We have attended bowl games in Nashville and in Atlanta, and the Citrus Bowl was by far the worst production and stadium that we have attended. We were unable to hear any of the announcements, the stadium appeared to be unclean, the painting on the field was sloppy, the entertainment was not entertaining, and the food was not good. We will not attend another bowl game there if our team is picked for that bowl.

Do Not GO!!!!!!!!
By ,
We went to the Citrus bowl early because I read online all parking was sold out for WrestleMania 23 . On the main road (441) across from the stadum 3 men with orange vests and flags and cones said we could park at a garage for $20. Long story short, when we came out, our car was towed. The owner of the shop was standing there handing out cards to the towing company that towed our car and 7 others. They said we could not get our car until the next day and pay $110 cash at the tow yard. The owner of the garage was hispanic and the tow truck owner was hispanic. I asked an Orlando city cop about it and he said that was my tough luck. He said it happens all the time there. Cops were everywhere when we parked the car. I felt bad for a family I met who was also towed and they were standing waited for someone from Daytona to pick them up. This was 12:30am in a very bad part of town. This place was built in the worst part of town. Orlando and it's police should be ashamed to let this go on........

Old and Outdated!
By ,
There really is very little to like about this stadium - it is old, feels old and looks old. It is so old that there are still restrooms there that have 1 large communal urinal - pretty disgusting. It is amazing that they get to keep the Citrus Bowl because this place is a dump! Parking is very poor and very limited. You park on the street if you find a spot just remember the neighborhood is not the best - at last years Citrus Bowl a man was found dead in a nearby lagoon. Vendor area is also very poor even though the food seems decent enough. Seats in the staduim are very uncomfortable and I can not imagine how they would be if I was heavy because the plastic seats feel terrible. Good news if we get to spend about $150 million in upgrades but i am not sure thats enough to bring this dump up to date. This stadium makes All Tell, Raymound James, Dolphins Stadium all look like palaces.

DISAPPOINTED AT THE CITRUS BOWL
By ,
I just returned from the Citrus Bowl to watch the DCI 2005 show~~~Although the show is great the big disappointment was the Citrus Bowl~~It was absolutely disgusting, the seats were filthy, the ground was black and mold was all over. I think you are doing a great job with that area but you need to clean up the Citrus Bowl because this is going to reflect on the City. The mold is a definite health hazard to any fan who attends an event at the Citrus Bowl.

We were robbed!
By ,
We read the review about the limited parking so we went to the Citrus bowl early. We were told that the guy we paid to park was a homeless guy and where our car would be towed. We moved to another location - at the end of the noght we returned to find our our car window broken out and our car cleaned out. We were in line for more than 45 minutes to get in because of the lack of organization at the gate. The seats were uncomfortable, the place was dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting. The lines for food were so long that you couldn't walk thru nor did you know what line you were even in. I would rate this the worst place to hold an event. The police said it was the roughest side of town. We will not go back!!!
