Bill's Airboat Adventures

Description

Owner, Captain Bill Daniel is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed seaman, a conservationist, and a river historian. Who better to take you and your family on a tour of Florida's pristine St. John's River? The 90-minute tour includes backwaters and marshland, where you'll almost certainly get an up-close view of some of Florida's famous wildlife. Encounter alligators, bald eagles, otters, manatees, osprey and deer, to say nothing of indigenous cypress trees. Tours leave from a variety of Central Florida venues; by appointment only.

Highly recommended to who come visit orlando
By cookie, 8/1/10
He is an excellent man. He has a great knowledge about a lake when he gave tour to us. Make sure you call him for the direction. If you follow his direction exactly, you will never get lost. I didn't follow my gps at all. Instead, I used his direction and I had no problems finding his place.

Would highly recommend to everyone

This is a personal airboat tour, not a commercial operation. It's you, Bill, and his airboat. He knows the river, the wildlife, and the history of the area. One way or another, he will find alligators for you to see! We gave up some time at an amusement park to take Bill's Airboat Adventure, and my 9 & 15 year old kids were glad we did, and they love amusement parks! It's very relaxing, educational, and a lot of fun. If at all possible, you should do this.

Great Time, Great Value!
By Philip, 4/6/10
Bill was a real guide, rather than just someone driving the boat. His 90 minute trip was less costly than other operators with only 45 minute tours. We were very impressed with his knowledge and true concern/care for the wellbeing of the river and its inhabitants. Definitely worth the short drive from Orlando.

By Jack, 11/2/09
This was by far the best part of our Florida vacation. I have always wanted to do this and am so glad Bill was the one to give us this great experience ! We will be back in February 2010 and can't wait to "fly" up and down the river again !

Skip Gatorland, try this instead
By Happy Eater, 1/14/08
Today we took our family to Bill's Airboat Adventures, and had a great time. Captain Bill is knowledgeable, opinionated, experienced, and confident - all great attributes in a backwater tour guide. He knew that river and swamp like the back of his hand, and could spot gators long before we did, and was able to get pretty close to them - literally feet away. This experience is one that we will treasure for a long time, and is 'anti-tourist' - meaning that while we *are* tourists, it is a genuine experience, not a pre-manufactured, consistently dosed, spoon fed, sanitized for your protection, fully automated, big industry certified and approved 'fun' like in the big parks. We considered going to Gatorland, but the thought of seeing fat gators in big swimming pools eat hot dogs wasn't our cup of tea. Instead, we chose to go where the gators live naturally - and that included all the birds, mud, crabs, swamp rabbits, and deer e could handle. The indian mound was worth the trip alone. You'll know when you go. We saw baby gators, big gators, in-between gators, more birds than you can shake a stick at, and have already re-watched our home videos twice... and we just went today. Bottom line - do it. Tip heavily. Keep this man in business, give him the nobel prize for gator spotting, and call your vacation complete.

So beautiful!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
So close to Disney, and yet a world apart! The beauty is magnificent, and the birds are phenominal, never mind all the alligators! It was a trip to be remembered and taken again. The highlight of our trip!
